NHRA: Race Recap From Dallas. John Force scored a $100,000 payday from the folks at Traxxas on Saturday with his victory in the rescheduled Traxxas Nitro Shootout over championship front runner Ron Capps, and the spoils carried over into raceday, as Bob Tasca III avenged his place outside the Countdown with a Funny Car victory, while Michael Ray locked the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson squad out of victory circle for the first time all season with his first-ever Pro Stock Motorcycle win. Antron Brown, who lost the in the first round in Charlotte, also charged back into contention with a win in Top Fuel, and Allen Johnson solidified his points lead in Pro Stock with a victory over fellow title challenger Erica Enders. JEG’S Northern SPORTSNationals: Ryan Smith headed up the winners at the NHRA JEG’S Northern SPORTSNationals at the National Trail Raceway in Columbus, Ohio, earning the Top Dragster title over Rick Forish on Sunday. Philip Smida III defended his title from last year in Super Comp, and class racing standout Michael Beard ousted Jeff Niceswanger in the Super Stock money round. David Billingsley won Competition Eliminator over Bo Butner, who was attempting a double-up victory on the weekend (he won Stock Eliminator in his ’10 Mustang). NMCA WEST: Mike Bowman picked up the Pro Street title at the NMCA WEST’s third stop on the four-race 2012 schedule at Arizona’s Speedworld Dragway over the weekend, scoring a 6.40 t0 6.85 victory over John Sciapli in the final. Ryan “Toaster” Jones earned the Mickey Thompson True 10.5 trophy with a defeat of Wally Tuttle Jr., while 275 Drag Radial was a battle of the Young Brothers that was won by Jeff over brother Kevin on a holeshot. IHRA Division 2 ET Finals: The host team Carolina Dragway turned back 12 other track teams at the Heat Wave Summit Team Finals over the weekend, led by Top ET winner Joe Gary, who ran a 4.76 in the final as opponent Claude Debonis fouled out at the starting line. Carolina Dragway also score a victory in Junior Dragster, as Shelby Miles turned back Orangeburg’s Blaine Gregg. Joe Tillman was the lone Bradenton team winner, earning the Mod ET victory with a final round defeat of Mike Kyzer. For more from Carolina, visit IHRA.com.

IHRA Division 3 ET Finals: Like in Division 2, host Pittsburgh Raceway Park defended their home turf with the team title over 10 visiting tracks, edging out Beaver Springs Dragway and Quaker Motorsports Park. Top ET was an all-Quaker City final as Brad slaughter defeated Lou Greco, while Jeff Pishner from Dragway 42 bested Randy Biddle Jr. from Quaker City for the Mod ET crown. IHRA Division 9 ET Finals: The Greer Dragway rumbled into Piedmont Dragway for the Raiders Division Summit Team Finals and stole the crown from the home team, defeating Fayetteville Motorsports Park by four points and Dunn-Benson Dragstrip by nine for the team title. Chad Brewer from Fayetteville bested Piedmont’s Chris Dean in the Top ET final, while Greer’s Jay Norris got the best of Mooresville’s Scott Yates in Mod ET.
