Southeast Gassers Announces 10-Race 2026 Schedule

The popular Southeast Gassers Association will roll into 2026 with a 10-race championship campaign that stretches across the heart of the region, reaffirming the group’s status as the premier nostalgia gasser organization in the country. The tour will sweep through six states and eight tracks, combining long-time SEGA strongholds with long-awaited returns and first-time appearances. This is an intentional effort by the series to honor its roots while expanding its footprint.

The schedule reveal on SEGA Live offered the first glimpse of that strategy. Series owner Leslie Horne summed up the mood: “I think it’s going to be great. We’re going to some new places, we’re going to some places that we have been to before, and haven’t been to before. I’m just excited to get back to racing.” That enthusiasm mirrors what racers and fans have been asking for, which is a season that respects the tradition, embraces new growth, and delivers on SEGA’s signature authenticity.

Shadyside Dragway once again will serve as the bookends of the year, hosting both the season opener and the Halloween finale. North Carolina anchors the schedule overall, with four events across three tracks. North Carolina has an unmistakably deep well of gasser history and fan support, making these popular stops.

The tour also corrects some unfinished business, as Holiday Raceway was washed out twice in 2025 and will get another shot in early May. Later that month, Brainerd Motorsports Park returns as a staple stop for fans straddling the Georgia–Tennessee border.

Knoxville Dragway keeps its June date, a scenic mountain-side facility that has become a pilgrimage event, drawing fans from as far away as Sweden and Hawaii. After a July pause, the series heads to Rockingham Dragway, a revitalized and top-tier facility that will host its first NHRA national event in 2026. SEGA’s inclusion on that stage highlights both the track’s resurgence and the series’ rising profile.

Farmington Dragway marks SEGA’s third North Carolina event of the year, a long-anticipated return to a facility with deep ties to the 1967-era association. Then comes one of the year’s most meaningful moments: a September trip back to Greer Dragway in South Carolina, where SEGA’s earliest identity was established. A decade has passed since the gassers last ripped down Greer’s strip, making the 2026 return a genuine homecoming.

October brings the lone doubleheader of the season at Gulfport Dragway during Cruisin’ The Coast’s 30th anniversary—this was an event that proved to be a massive hit in its 2025 debut.

From established classics to renewed partnerships, the 2026 Southeast Gassers season will remind racers and fans why this series remains the standard-bearer for authentic, period-correct gasser racing.
