Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels has announced its return to NHRA drag racing as a major national event sponsor of the newly renamed Mello Yello Drag Racing Series in 2013, offering support for racers in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series and competitors in Pro Modified and Pro Stock Motorcycle. The Mickey Thompson trackside support staff and its fully equipped trailer will be on site at all 24 NHRA national events.
“Sportsman class racing is one of the cornerstones of the Mickey Thompson legacy,” stated Tom Kundrik, Motorsports Manager, Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels. “Mickey Thompson has supported NHRA racers for nearly 30 years, and as our company celebrates 50 years, we want to continue to provide outstanding support to Sportsman racers in a variety of ways.”
Mickey Thompson will kick off its nationwide tour with drag racing’s premier professional drag racing series with the rest of the cars and stars of the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series at the season opening Winternationals at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, Calif., February 14-17. The complete schedule where you can find the Mickey Thompson staff can be viewed on the NHRA website.
In addition to the increased sponsorship and support at the national event level, Mickey Thompson will continue as an associate contingency sponsor of the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series sportsman ranks at the divisional level, including Competition Eliminator, Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Top Sportsman, and Top Dragster.
Mickey Thompson will continue to support racers through its Team M/T program, a membership program that brings with it a number of benefits, including the Fast Pay contingency payment program, a gift card, pit banners, hats, shirts, decals, and more…all in addition to the great at-track support by Mickey Thompson’s recently expanded internal racing staff.
