After announcing last week its full support of the newly formed X-treme Drag Racing League in 2013, Tim McAmis Performance Parts has announced an incentive for competitors in the series’ Mickey Thompson Top Sportsman category, awarding a Low Qualifier bonus of $500 at each of the nine 2013 X-DRL events. The No. 1 qualifier in the exciting dial-in doorslammer category at each race will also receive a special Low Qualifier plaque.

“We have always been a supporter of Top Sportsman racing and we are excited to offer a Low Qualifier bonus for the class in the X-DRL during the 2013 season,” TMPP Owner Tim McAmis said. “We believe it will lead to some remarkable racing in a class that has always provided great entertainment.

“The Top Sportsman class has also proven to be a great place for our customers to race and showcase their talents, and we are really looking forward to seeing the excitement the drivers in the class will provide during the 2013 X-DRL season.”

Mickey Thompson announced late last month that it was joining forces with the X-DRL in its inaugural season to back the popular Top Sportsman category.

“As we celebrate 50 years, we want to remain true to the legacy of our company, and supporting the Top Sportsman competitors is part of that,” stated Tom Kundrik, Motorsports Manager, Mickey Thompson. “We’re looking forward to a great season. There are going to be a lot of talented drivers participating this year for a chance to win the X-DRL Championship crown.”

The freshman season for the X-DRL will kick off on April 6-7 with the X-DRL Spring Nationals at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park, and will feature the Mickey Thompson Top Sportsman category, along with a whole host of heads-up racing classes for full-bodied vehicles.
