r2NHRA: Same Day Coverage From Charlotte. Spencer Massey edged out teammate Toy Schumacher, as well as Shawn Langdon and Brandon Bernstein to claim the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals crown under beautiful spring conditions at the zMax Dragway in Charlotte on Sunday. Massey’s teammate, Matt Hagan, who recorded the first official three-second 1,000-foot Funny Car run in Charlotte in 2011, bested first-time finalist Blake Alexander, Tim Wilkerson, and surprise No. 1 qualifier Chad Head to score a victory, as well. In Pro Stock, Mike Edwards parlayed a new national record lap in qualifying into victory on race day — his first of the season — while young Hector Arana Jr. sailed to victory in Pro Stock Motorcycle, just edging out Eddie Kraewic at the stripe. And in Pro Modified (contested two-wide), reigning series champ Troy Coughlin collected his first win of 2013, defeating Keny Lang, 5.893 to 5.898. NHRA Division 4: Bill Kent was first out of the gate and was further under the index in the Competition Eliminator finale at the NHRA South Central division meet in Dallas on Sunday, besting foe Clark Smiley for the event crown. Joining Kent was Super Stock winner Norman Marsden, who beat out Larry Stewart by a narrow .007-seconds in the final round. Harvey Emmons III won in Stock, defeating Jacob Pitt, while Austin Williams (Super Comp), Jeff Lopez (Super Gas), and Charlie Owens (Super Street) also took home some hardware. IHRA Division 2: Victor Fera waded through five rounds of racing and overcame a better light in the final by Steve Dweck to score the Top Dragster crown at the IHRA Pro-Am event at the Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida over the weekend. Fera was joined in victory lane by Top Sportsman champ Rick McDonough, who bested Scott Davis in the final round. For more results from Bradenton, log on to Drag Race Central.

IHRA Nitro Jam: Bruce Litton carded a nice 4.89 to defeat Kyle Wurtzel in Top Fuel on the opening day of the IHRA’s Bradenton Nitro Jam. Peter Gallen also hoisted the winners trophy, running a 5.89 to down a slowing Mike Minick in Prostalgia Funny Car. On Saturday, Wurtzel turned the tables on Litton, running a 5.08 to Litton’s off-pace 5.86 in the Top Fuel money round. Gallen doubled up with a second win on Saturday, while Kyle Hough traded the Friday victory with Ron Hope in Nostalgia Fuel Altered. MIR Door Wars: Veteran racer Jeff Miller drove from the No. 1 qualifying slot to victory in Pro Modified at Maryland International Raceway’s Door Wars over the weekend, defeating Angela Ray with a 6.00 after a slew of 5.90’s during eliminations. Billy Gordon scorched to a 4.15 in the Outlaw 10.5 final to win his division, and Bill Dutka took his ’79 Malibu to victory circle in Outlaw Drag Radial, beating Francis Johnson, 4.55 to 4.71. New York racer Dean Marinis was also dominant in X275, qualifying No. 1 at 4.59 and running low ET of every round, finally ousting Rich Bruder in the final. NHRA Division 4 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series – Ennis, Tex.
