Buckle up, because the Mickey Thompson Turn & Burn presented by Summit Racing Equipment and powered by Sick the Magazine is about to rewrite the rulebook on what it means to go on a drag-and-drive adventure. The biggest names in drag-and-drive will be at Summit Motorsports Park to take on the Turn & Burn challenge May 5-9.

Usually, at a drag-and-drive, competitors spend a week racing at a different track each day. But, for the Turn & Burn, racers will be driving to area attractions before returning to Summit Motorsports Park to lay down passes. It’s the kind of madness that makes drag-and-drive events so much fun.

Turn & Burn keeps all the racing action anchored at one world-class facility, Summit Motorsports Park, while the day trips to area attractions serve as the ultimate shakedown for man and machine alike.

Competitors will first make a stop at the Mainsfield prison on Thursday, May 7th, after racing from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. On Friday, May 8th, racers will check out Akron Derby Downs before heading to Summit Racing Equipment’s headquarters. Then, it’s back to Summit Motorsports Park to race from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm. When the racing is done, everyone gets to see a fireworks show and check out some great live music. Saturday, racing kicks off at 11:00 am with an awards ceremony at 6:00 pm.

The class structure is stout, covering everything from the ultimate street cars that make thousands of horsepower, to your typical home-built project car. Whether you’re a big-dollar door-slammer pilot or a weekend warrior who built something special in the garage, there’s a home for you at Turn & Burn:

  • Unlimited
  • Unlimited Iron
  • Pro Mod Radial
  • Super Street Outlaw
  • Gasser
  • 275 Radial
  • Pro DYO
  • DYO

This isn’t some regional race. The Turn & Burn star power roster reads like a greatest hits album of the drag-and-drive world. Alex Taylor, Nikky Bobby, Tom Bailey, Mike Finnegan,  Morgan Evans, David Newbern, Dave Schroeder, Jeff Lutz, and Steve Morris are all on the docket to be a part of Turn & Burn.
