Mongoose PicThe annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas is right around the corner, and as always, the sport of drag racing will have a very active presence at the largest high performance trade show in the world with sanctioning bodies and racers taking part in various capacities in the event and the displaying of many race vehicles throughout the sprawling convention halls.

The stars of the NHRA, past and present, are always out and about at SEMA meeting and greeting with manufacturers and sponsors, many of them taking part in autograph sessions and media events throughout the week. Among those scheduled to appear at the show this year are part-time Funny Car pilot Paul Lee and his good friend, the one and only Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen, both of whom will be signing autographs at McLeod Racing’s booth (#22837) on Thursday November 7th from 11-12 a.m.

The legendary McEwen, who simply needs no introduction in drag racing circles, had his racing endeavors and epic rivalry with friend Don “The Snake” Prudhomme portrayed in the big screen film “Snake & Mongoose” earlier this fall.

Lee began racing at the age of 16 in his mother’s Plymouth Duster, and has worked his way up the racing ladder, winning a national event in Top Alcohol Funny Car before moving up to the Funny Car ranks.

“We are very pleased to have these two incredible racers who have given so much to the sport at our booth for fans to see.“ says Bob Scheid, Director of Business Development for McLeod Racing LLC. “The Mongoose’s career is legendary and Lee’s ability to both produce on the track and as the leader of McLeod Clutches is astounding.”
