Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed Continuing At NMCA Events In ’14

For the fourth consecutive year, the NHRA, Aerospace Components, and ProMedia events will once again join forces during the 2014 season to continue the Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed program at NMCA and NMCA WEST series events. As part of a multi-year agreement between the NHRA and ProMedia, the NHRA Unleashed program will continue to award race winners at NMCA and NMCA WEST races contested at NHRA member race tracks with coveted Wally trophies.

All official NMCA and NMCA WEST points-paying class winners at Member tracks will receive a Wally trophy at each Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed event. Aerospace Components, which has been the title sponsor of NHRA Unleashed since it was first formed in 2010, will continue its support of the program, adding benefits to the NMCA Flowmaster Muscle Car Drag Racing Series and the NMCA WEST series, which includes over $3.5 million in event purse and contingency money at the eleven events (seven NMCA, four NMCA WEST).

The Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed program was originally developed as a new property of the NHRA designed to showcase heads-up door slammer competition in a format catered to a new, younger generation of crowds at the track, while also being ported over to television, as part of a agreement between the NHRA and Disrupt/ive Studios. Early in its second season, the NHRA and ProMedia, a pair of southern California organizations, teamed up to bring the program under the NMCA umbrella, thus bringing even greater benefits and exposure to the NMCA, NMCA WEST, and its competitors.
