The IHRA is turning one major scheduling change into one of the biggest drag racing weekends of the 2026 season. The IHRA announced the 2026 Triple Crown Finale, originally scheduled for Darana Memphis Motorsports Park, will now move to historic Darana Raceway Maple Grove Park, creating a massive “Triple Crown x2” doubleheader weekend at one of the sport’s premier facilities.
The result will be a four-day drag racing spectacle at Maple Grove Park from Sept. 10-13 that features two complete IHRA Triple Crown events, monster payouts, and a potential $1 million payday on the line for nitro teams and professional racers.
IHRA Triple Crown x2 Weekend Will Feature Two Full Events
While the IHRA hoped to return to Darana Memphis Motorsports Park this season, scheduling limitations and the lack of available dates forced officials to rethink the calendar. Instead of simply canceling the event, the IHRA created a unique doubleheader format that will now give fans and racers two Triple Crown races in a single weekend.

The Triple Crown series will officially kick off June 19-20 at Darana Raceway in Hebron, Ohio. The championship then shifts to Maple Grove Park in Pennsylvania for the historic season-ending doubleheader.
The first Maple Grove event will feature qualifying on Thursday, Sept. 10, followed by eliminations on Friday, Sept. 11. Teams will then reset for the second event with qualifying on Saturday, Sept. 12, and eliminations on Sunday, Sept. 13.
That means racers will have two chances to collect major event victories during one weekend at one of the most iconic drag racing facilities in the country.
$1 Million Triple Crown Bonus Raises The Stakes
The biggest storyline surrounding the IHRA Triple Crown series is the staggering bonus money on the line.
Any driver capable of sweeping all three Triple Crown races, the Ohio opener, and both Maple Grove events will earn a $1 million bonus. That includes competitors in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Mod, Mountain Motor Pro Stock, and IHRA Pro Stock.
With 12,000-horsepower Top Fuel dragsters and nitro Funny Cars expected to exceed 340 mph over the 1,000-foot racing surface, the pressure and intensity throughout the weekend will be enormous.
The Triple Crown x2 format also creates a rare scenario where momentum could completely reshape championship battles in a matter of days.

Maple Grove Park Set To Host One Of Drag Racing’s Biggest Weekends
Darana Raceway Maple Grove Park already carries a legendary reputation within the drag racing community, and the addition of two Triple Crown events only elevates the importance of the facility on the 2026 calendar.
Fans attending the four-day event will see a stacked lineup of professional categories beyond the premier nitro divisions.
In addition to Top Fuel and Funny Car, the event will feature:
- Pro Mod
- Mountain Motor Pro Stock
- IHRA Pro Stock
- Top Fuel Motorcycle
- Nitro Harley
- Fuel Altered
- Outlaw Pro Mod
- Top Alcohol Dragster
- Top Alcohol Funny Car
That combination of classes creates one of the deepest and most diverse professional drag racing programs of the season. Racers now get the opportunity to compete for career-changing money in front of massive crowds at Maple Grove, which is significant. For fans, the Triple Crown x2 weekend promises wall-to-wall action, historic stakes, and some of the quickest and fastest race cars in the world battling for one of the richest bonuses in drag racing.
