There may not be a hotter team in NHRA Pro Stock right now than Elite Motorsports.
Fresh off one of the most dominant weekends in team history, Elite heads to the Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways carrying tremendous momentum after sweeping all four semifinal positions at the NHRA Sonoma Nationals. It was a landmark achievement for the powerhouse organization and another reminder that the team appears to be peaking at exactly the right time with the Countdown to the Championship rapidly approaching.
With only a handful of races remaining before the NHRA playoffs begin, Elite Motorsports has positioned itself as one of the biggest threats in the Pro Stock championship battle.
Historic Sonoma Sweep Showcases Elite’s Depth
Elite Motorsports dominated at Sonoma.
For the first time in organization history, all four Pro Stock semifinalists represented the Elite camp. The performance highlighted the strength of one of the deepest teams in professional drag racing and continued an impressive run of success at Sonoma Raceway.
The victory marked Elite’s fifth consecutive Pro Stock win at the Northern California facility:

Greg Stanfield capped the historic weekend by defeating teammate Erica Enders in the final round to secure his second consecutive Sonoma Nationals victory and the seventh NHRA Pro Stock win of his career.
The Janac Brothers Racing driver also collected his first victory of the 2026 season, moving into a tie for third in the Pro Stock championship standings.
Greg Stanfield Says Momentum Matters
With the Countdown to the Championship drawing closer, Stanfield knows confidence can become one of a team’s greatest assets.
After finally breaking through for his first win of the season, he believes the entire Elite Motorsports organization benefits from the recent success.
“The Elite cars are fast right now, and I’m just proud, excited, and thankful to be driving for them,” said Stanfield who is tied for third in the points standings after picking up his first win of 2026. “The racing is so tight today, so the driving part of it is really critical. When I race, I don’t look at who’s in the other lane; I just try to focus on my side, what I can do, and do the best I can. Momentum is everything, especially with the way the NHRA Countdown to the Championship format is. It builds confidence for all the guys who work hard to keep these cars competitive. Once things start coming around, it feels good, but you still have to keep your head down and keep working hard.”
Stanfield’s comments reflect the razor-thin margins that now define Pro Stock competition, where driver performance and team execution can determine races separated by thousandths of a second.
Erica Enders Heads Back To A Familiar Winner’s Circle
Few tracks carry as much personal significance for Erica Enders as Pacific Raceways.
The six-time NHRA Pro Stock world champion earned her second career Pro Stock victory in Seattle, claiming the event’s special 25th Anniversary trophy. Now, after reaching the final round in Sonoma and celebrating another major career milestone, she’s hoping Pacific Raceways provides another opportunity to continue Elite’s resurgence.
Last weekend, Enders made her 400th career Pro Stock start, another remarkable accomplishment in one of the sport’s most competitive categories.
She believes the team is finally heading in the right direction after battling through a difficult stretch over the past season and a half.
“Coming off a final-round finish in Sonoma, I’m definitely really excited about Seattle,” said Enders who is seventh in the points standings. “We’ve had some pretty serious success there. I have a silver Wally there for winning the 25th anniversary of the event—that was the second Pro Stock race I ever won—so that is on my shelf at home. Seattle is definitely a fun, tricky racetrack, but I feel like we’re directionally correct in the way that we’re heading. That makes me really excited because it’s been a really long 18 months, and to have four Elite cars in the semifinal in Sonoma gives us great hope moving forward. It’s definitely a good time to start running well and hopefully peak during the Countdown to the Championship.”
Elite Already Guaranteed A Saturday Victory
Elite Motorsports will also be impossible to beat during Saturday’s Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty Pro Stock Challenge.
Because all four semifinalists at Sonoma came from Elite Motorsports, Saturday’s specialty race in Seattle will feature an all-Elite rematch between:
- Greg Stanfield
- Erica Enders
- Jeg Coughlin Jr.
- Troy Coughlin Jr.
The winner will earn valuable championship bonus points along with the event’s cash prize, ensuring Elite Motorsports adds another Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty Challenge victory to its growing résumé.
Seattle Has Been Good To Elite’s Veteran Drivers
Elite enters Pacific Raceways with multiple drivers who have already celebrated victories at the historic Northwest facility.
Jeg Coughlin Jr. owns two Seattle victories after winning in 2002 and 2024, while Troy Coughlin Jr. added his own Pacific Raceways triumph in 2022.
That previous success provides the organization with a strong knowledge base heading into one of the NHRA tour’s most unique tracks. Pacific Raceways has long challenged teams with changing weather conditions and a surface that rewards both horsepower and precision tuning.
More Than Just Pro Stock
Elite Motorsports’ presence in Seattle extends beyond Pro Stock.
The organization will host R+L Carriers guests throughout the weekend while supporting Tony Stewart’s Top Fuel program. Stewart enters the Northwest Nationals seeking his second Top Fuel victory of the season as Elite continues expanding its footprint across multiple professional categories.
If Sonoma proved anything, it’s that Elite Motorsports is beginning to hit its stride at exactly the right time.
