There’s another brand spankin’ new ride headed to the NHRA Pro Modified ranks in the coming weeks, and if it runs half as mean as it looks, the rest of the field had better watch out.

Esteemed chassis builder Larry Jeffers and his team at Larry Jeffers Race Cars in Missouri have been putting the finishing touches on an all-new piece for Harry Hruska of Precision Turbo & Engine, and will serve as the team’s new in-house race car. Longtime doorslammer ace Don Walsh Jr. will continue as the driver of the twin-turbocharged 2014 Chevrolet Camaro that’s long, low, and incredibly mean.

Jeffers is of course no stranger to producing lightning quick door cars and has solidified his place as one of the premier chassis builders in the world, with customers the likes of multi-time world record holder Frankie Taylor, Tommy D’Aprile, Todd Tutterow, and many others all sporting LJRC-built rides.

Walsh, a veteran of the all-Ford drag racing ranks, has competed in three of the first four NHRA Pro Mod races this season, missing only the most recent stop on the tour in Englishtown. While awaiting delivery of their new chariot from the Jeffers shop, Walsh and Hruska have been campaigning a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro owned by Brad Personett, who previously raced (and won) with Hruska on the NHRA trail.

The new Camaro will sport power from a 521-inch Brad Anderson mill paired with the NHRA-mandated 88mm Precision turbos.
