Next week, the PDRA Racing Series will host its 2026 World Finals at Virginia Motorsports Park. For the second year, the PDRA has combined its Pro Stars event with the World Finals, giving fans two races in one weekend. Plus, this year there are no admission or parking fees for spectators wanting to come out Thursday for the Pro Stars event.
What is the Summit Racing Equipment PDRA Pro Stars? It is a race that spotlights the all-star racers of the PDRA Racing Series. Racers in all categories accumulate points from the final three races of the previous year and the first five races of the current year. These points are separate from class championship points.
Points are awarded based on several factors. Racers are awarded 40 points for making at least one qualifying run and must at least take the tree under power. Each racer will gain 10 points for each round win during eliminations, and class event winners will receive two bonus points. For the heads-up classes, racers can earn one bonus point for each holeshot round win, and Sportsman racers can earn one bonus point for each “dead-on dial” round win.
At the end of the fifth race of the current season, points are tallied, and the top eight racers in Pro Stars points from each class will have free entry into the event. If a top-eight qualified racer cannot make the race, an alternate will be substituted, starting with the next-highest qualified racer.
The race will be run on Thursday, September 17, during World Finals weekend. Racers will get two test runs and then go straight into eliminations that night.
