SAVELL, WENRICK, BATES CLAIM NMRA/NMCA ALL STAR NATIONALS TITLES

NMCA All Star Nationals
Tim Savell drove to his first career NMCA title on Sunday at the NMRA/NMCA All Star Nationals at the Atlanta Dragway in Georgia, defeating reigning series champion Michael Biehle, who broke, in the Xtreme Pro Mod money round. Savell had earlier set the national record for the class with a 3.76 in qualifying and ran as quick as 3.80 during eliminations. In the combined Street Outlaw class, it was NMCA runner Jarod Wenrick who nabbed the hardware, downing Ronnie Diaz in the finale with a 4.81 to a slowing 8.76. In Nitrous Pro Street, Don Baskin, who was the class of the field all weekend, drove his 2012 Camaro to victory over a slowing Jennifer Brooke Rice with a clean 7.31. The Radial Wars class was unable to complete its final round, pitting Keith Berry opposite of Daniel Pharris, before nightfall. That matchup will be contested at the next event in Kentucky.
