Bahrain’s EKanoo Racing has stunningly — but not exactly unexpectedly — shattered the three-year old 1/4-mile world elapsed time record for full-bodied doorslammers, as they ripped off a 5.445-second lap at 273.86 mph at the Bahrain International Circuit during round four of the Arabian Pro Series today.
The number, recorded by EKanoo driver Khalid Mohammed behind the wheel of the teams’ state-of-the-art Lexus RCF, betters Qatar native Turky al Zafiri’s 5.461 recorded in St. Louis, Missouri in 2014. The team’s RCF is powered by a Pro Line Racing Hemi with twin 94 mm Precision turbos and tuned and prepared by Americans Eric Luzinski, Shane Tecklenburg, Tim Davis, and Jamie Miller, and overseen by team manger by Haider Mohd.
