What do you get when you combine the insanity of Radial vs The World with the fastest No Time and Grudge racers in the world? You get a unique event known as WOOOSTOCK, and it’s coming to Darlington Dragway April 12-14. All the action from WOOOSTOCK will also be broadcast LIVE on SpeedVideo.com!
Radial tire racing legend Keith Berry joined forces with the team at Carolina N/T Small Tire Racing Productions to bring WOOOSTOCK to life. The idea behind WOOOSTOCK is to assemble the fastest racers from different genres of drag racing to one location and put on one heck of a show for the fans. The result of this combination in its inaugural contest were record-setting runs in Radial vs The World and some of the biggest grudge matches ever seen.
Last year WOOOSTOCK saw the Radial vs The World record reset by Steve Jackson, the quickest side-by-side racial race ever, and the first ever three-second pass on a set of 275 radial tires. Jimmy Bradshaw and his team at Darlington Dragway will once again have the track set on kill, and that could lead to records falling again. Racers from all over the country will be coming through the gates at WOOOSTOCK for their chance at being a part of radial tire racing history.
The No Time side of WOOOSTOCK is stacked with some excellent racing courtesy of the Carolina N/T Small Tire Racing Productions team. There will be a N/T 29/315 class, N/T 28/275 class, the N/T Carolina 28/275, along with a N/T small-block, nitrous-only class, and N/T small-block boosted class. Each of these shootouts will be running for a $5,000 pot, and that doesn’t include the huge side bets that will be made each round. The level of excitement will be off the charts when these shootout classes hit the track.
There is going to be more than just class racing and shootouts at WOOOSTOCK; the big time grudge racers will be coming out to play. Steve Jackson got his start in grudge racing and will be bringing some of that to Radial vs The World as he tries to lock in a huge grudge race with Mark Micke during qualifying. The monster grudge race of WOOOSTOCK has been set between Justin “Lil Country” Swanstrom versus Al Boogie. To raise the intensity level even more, Boogie has brought in PDRA star Jay Cox to wheel his Camaro in this race. The stakes are high, the pot is huge, and the talent is off the chain for this clash of the grudge racing titans!
