Mike Freemanish ripped off a 4.90 in Ultra Street last night for a track record and personal best. He runs a KBX 400 boosted by an 91MM F1C Procharger with trans and converter and tuning by Jason Gatlin at ATF. “This is a team effort which would not be possible with Jason’s help. Thanks also to John Kolivas for the help with the suspension lest night putting us one step closer to 4.80’s” – Mike FreemanJamie Hancock sat out the final session repairing an oil leak. He sits second in Radial vs the World with a 4.13.Kenny Markwish sits sixth and will face off with Chris Tedeschi in round one of Outlaw 275 this morning. It’s been a crowd pleaser carrying the left front with the stock suspension old school set up. He is forty eighth of fifty eight cars in class.Josh Klugger and Steve Cooks top off the cell in the Fiscus/Klugger Racing Drag Radial Mustang. He will have an opponent broke bye first round after Frank Meshaw suffered some engine damage last night.We are getting into first round now at the twenty second annual Real World Street Nationals after some special words for te tragedy in France during the invocation and National Anthem.

Tricky Ricky Smith had an opponent broke bye over Mike Tokarz rolling out to a 5.84 at just 218 shutting it down just a bit early. He dropped a valve on the run and Kris Thorne is also broke so Glidden will have an easy road to the final.Kevin Fiscus put up a 5.815 at 156 for low ET in round one of Pro Mod. He faces Chuck Mohn who had his first five second run of the weekend today, taking out George Williams III on a holeshot. Fiscus also holds the track record for mile per hour with his 260 MPH pass Saturday.Jordan Ensslin set low ET in Outlaw 632 this morning running a 4.447 on his earned bye.Smokey Hale paired up with Al Dito with Dito takign the starting line advantage. He put up a clean4.54 at 157 in a game effort but fell victim to Hale’s 4.51 at 158.The track was tricky for the radial cars in the first round today with several upsets in the round. Here Ziff Hudson takes a hard loss to Frank Acquaro after kicking the tires early.Kenny Markwich (near lane) will advance over Chris Tedeschi who lit the red bulb in the matchup.Mike Freeman met with Joe Gibbud in a blower vs nitrous match in Ultra Street. Gibbud had a good run with a 5.14 but not enough to stay out on Freeman’s 4.94 at 40Walter Drakeford and Ari Birchfield were paired up with Birchfield getting a good advantage on the tree. Drakeford’s 4.97 at 136 did the trick and he will advance to round two to face off with number five qualifier Tim Hendricks.In Radial vs the World Jamie Hancock will be going home early taking a loss to Rick Prospero’s (far lane) twin turbo big block RX7 street car and Drag Week winner.Chad Opaleski had low ET for the round putting up a 4.23 at 182, his best of the weekend. He will run Prospero in round two with lane choice.David Pearson is out in Outlaw 275 but in RvW after a win over Bobby Dodrill’s C10.

Adam Flamholc faced off with import powered record holder Isaoas Rojas' Cobalt racing out of Mech Tech here in Orlando. Rojas took the starting line advantage with an .077 reaction running through the stripe to a 6.011 at 238. It just wasn't enough to stay in front of the 5 Day Plantation Shutter and Blinds NHRA Legal Pro Mod based in Malmo Sweden setting another personal best and low ET this round 5.827 at 245 MPH. He will face of with Kevin Fiscus in the semi final. The team is very happy so far with the performance of the MMR/HRA built engine topped with a Mike Janis blower. The team plans to run the Citrus Nationals and Snowbird Outlaw Nationals before running IHRA and NHRA Pro Mod next season. The semi final in Pro Mod was Kevin Fiscus and Adam Flamholc with both racers on good runs. At the strip it would be Fiscus earning the win with a 5.84 to Flamholc’s 5.88 with the margin of victory being just .0018 of a second. Fiscus will face Glidden in the final round.Troy Blake faced off with Jordan Ensslin in the Outlaw 632 semi final running a 4.48 at 160. Ensslin broke at the launch. The final will be Rolando Hale vs Blake with Jeff Ensslin going red taking himself out on a 4.45 pass.Jorge Lozcano will face off with George “Racin” Cason in the final of World Street with lane choice going to Lozcano.

Josh Klugger will face off with Chad Opaleski who has lane choice with yet another personal best 4.20 at 183 MPH. Fiscus will have his hands full as Chad has been the most consistent car in Radial vs the World this weekend.

The Ultra Street final will have two familiar faces in Troy Pirez Jr. and Walter Drakeford. Pirez had a good match with Bill Gregan running a 4.96 to Gregan's game 5.02. Mike Freeman struck the tires in his match with Drakeford who went on to run a 4.97 setting up the all nitrous final.

Billy Glidden earned his first win here in Orlando since 2002 where he won Outlaw 10.5 in his black Mustang. Today it would be Pro Modified in a match against fellow NHRA competitor Kevin Fiscus. Kevin had lane choice going into the final but went red handing Glidden the event win with his best of weekend 5.89 at 239 MPH.Heavy Street number one qualifier Ken Quartuccio met with local racer Jok Totight in the final with lane choice and a distinct advantage for the double entered racer. Totight took the hole shot with a .028 reaction but was outpaced by Quartuccio’s 7.19 at 164 coasting through the quarter mile.Jok Totight (near lane) ran a string of 8.50’s to make the final with his show quality supercharged 68 Camaro.Jorge Lozcano ran well in World Street qualifying but hurt the engine and left the track to make repairs yesterday. The team was back today but struggled in eliminations before meeting up with Greg Cason in the final where they put a run together earning the win with a 6.52 at 219 to Cason’s 7.23 at 159.Greg Cason, World Street runner up.Untra Street featured some very close racing this weekend with Walter Drakeford and Troy Pirez Jr. meeting up in the final. Drakeford took the advantage on the tree scoring an .036 reaction and running a 4.99 to Pirez’ quicker 4.95 to earn the holeshot win for back to back RWSN wins in Ultra Street.Troy Pirez Jr. Ultra Street runner up.Tony Ridenour waded through the Outlaw 275 field to meet up with Phil Hines in the final for a blower vs turbo pairing. Hines left first but struck teh tires allowing Ridenour to drive by with a 4.46 at 171.Phil Hines (near lane) Outlaw 275 runner up.Chad Opaleski and Josh Klugger met in the final of Radial vs the World with Opaleski having lane choice. He lost oil pressure on the burnout and shut it down though giving Klugger the go ahead win.Kenny Anderson (near lane) and Will Kirklin waded through four rounds of competition in 8.50 Index to meet in the final. Kirklin left first in a tight race with both drivers playing the stripe. Kenny took the win with an 8.55 to Kirklin’s 8.60.Rob Ward took the 10.0 Index win after six rounds of racing today with both racers breaking out , Ward with a 9.998 at 136 MPH.Bobby Taylor (near lane) 10.0 Index Runner up.

Tim Bates and Lil Bull were on the mike this morning waking the racers up getting things started. There are several racers here and local participating shops offering services to racers in need of parts or repairs including BLP Racing Products, American Motrosports/Advanced Driveline, JW Transmissions and Holeshot Performance Wheels and Central Florida Machine’s Gene Kerr.Joseph Hutfill drives this 1970 Camaro in World Street, pitting import vs domestic cars in head to head battle. He sits second in class with a 7.23 at 183 MPH. Mike Walker and David Beggers are partners in this car with Begger’s owning the chassis and Walker tuning the Fuel Tech engine management. The car was finished earlier this year but the rainy summer limited their testing with the team having about 15 runs on the car to date. Twin Competition Turbo’s provide the boost backed by an FTI trans and converter.We caught up with Enrique Pirez putting his second round tune up in the car this morning for driver Ari Birchfeild. The team had a new personal best winning Ultra Street in Palm Beach two weeks ago and ran a 5.05 while testing here Thursday. Enrique is shown here at left with his niece Ariel Birchfield.

Danny Palm Jr. and crew are long time participants here at Orlando and have resurrected the El Camino for Outlaw 632 this weekend after an accident in 2007. The car was originally built in 1989 and went through multiple updates since the crash now running a Shafiroff 632 cubic inch big block Chevy.

Charles Hull is normally found at NMRA or X275 events but has switched it up with a 102 mm Precision turbo for Outlaw 275 this weekend feeding the billet head Bennett Racing small Ford as part of Team KBX with car build and fabrication from Pressurized Solutions. So far so good with the added power and Hull will be looking for 4.20's this weekend.

Tyler Roux runs an unusual combination in his Ultra Street Chevy Silverado with a ODC Built 383 small block Chevy single Borg Warner 76 MM turbo with a blow through carburetor set up. Eric Kenward's Eric Automotive was tasked with fab work and assisting tuning the TRZ Motorsports suspension. Yesterday he was running off the waste gate landing thirteenth with a 5.26 at 130 MPH. Mike Gaffney from Wildwood, Florida was an early racer in 10.0 Index this morning with his beautiful Pro Street style 1970 El Camino.Rolando Hale is driving the new car out of Bum Harrison/Wildman Jimmy Hall camp in Outlaw 632 this weekend.Jason Juday made his first pass in OL 632 today going A to B on his attempt.Troy Pirez Jr. jumped right in the Ultra Street field today running a 4.97 at 142, good for third in class after two rounds of qualifying.Mike Fratena improved slightly to a 5.09 at 140 with his single turbo third gen Camaro.Tim Hendricks was fourth in Ultra last night and made a nice run this afternoon in the heat.Ziff Hudson jumped rigth to top qualifier in Outlaw 275 off the trailer with a 4.40 at 176 MPH.Several racers showed up today including Mustang Mike who is running Outlaw 275 this weekend. He did not make a full pass this round.Chad Opaleski did not make a pass in qualifying yesterday after repairing an oil leak that rose it’s head in testing.Jamie Hancock showed up late last night and pulled a 4.25 at 180 to earn top qualifier in Radial vs the World.Chuck Mohn put up a 6.04 at 235 MPH earlier today in Pro Mod.Ruben Tetsosvilli paired up with Rickie Smith in round three qualifying but got loose just past the 60′ on this run.Long time Orlando racer Wayne Smozanek put up a personal best 6.17 this afternoon in Pro Mod.

Randy Goodman lit the tires up on the Dark Horse supercharged Nova on his third round attempt in World Street getting crossed up but avoiding contact with the wall.

We have a good crowd here today with the fence lined deep on the pit side. Jerico Balduff is a little worse for wear with some front end damage after his off track excursion yesterday. The car is ok otherwise and they will be taking another shot in the final qualifying session this evening.Jordan Ensslin put up a 4.56 at 157 MPH in OL 632. His best run of the weekend.Eric Kenward matched his earlier qualifying 4.93 in Ultra Street for the round three session. Mike Miller near lane.Jamie Hancock improved to a 4.13 at 184 in RVW solidifying his lead in the class.Chad Opaleski improved to a 4.32 with his 66 Chevelle in RVW though had some smoke after the stripe. We will check with the team later to see how they are doing. Hopefully no real damage occurred.

Ron Fisher looked like he gathered up some engine damage on his round three attempt in RVW. He has been inproving slightly through the day. Kenny Anderson has been running 8.50 today and decided to jump into World Street requiring soem tuning and weight adjustments between rounds.

Asaoas Rojas was running well this afternoon and with the Mech Tech Cobalt. In the final session he left well and the car stuck running through the finish line to a 5.98 at 241 to become the first import powered car to runs 5's in the United States. Joseph Hutfill rolled out to a 7.07 at 196 MPH to earn second in World Street behind Jorge Lazcano.Mike Freeman jumped in front of Eric Kenward taking top qualifier in Ultra Street with a 4.907 at 144 MPH.Brian Keep struggle hooking the truck this afternoon. He was able to figure things out and put up an clean 5.06 at 138 to land eighth in class.David Pearson is double entered this weekend and leads both Outlaw 275 and Radial vs the World with a 4.121 at 176 and 4.131 at 175 respectively.

Rick Prospero ran Drag Week again this year but with his new car, this 1990 Mazda RX7 winning the Modified Power Adder class. The engine is the same 555cubic inch big Chevy combo from his Chevy II wagon fed by twin Garrett turbos. He ran a 7.80 at 180 today, a bit off where they want but a clean run. The car was built in house by Rick's Automotive in Satellite Beach, Florida with paint by Scott Murray at Murray's Auto Collision.

Bobby Dodrill has Miss Misery ready for racing and made his first hit after the rebuild this afternoon. He was here yesterday but had trouble with getting the transmission into reverse. The 1978 C-10 Chevy is powered by a 540 cubic inch Keith Black Chevy with 18 degree big chief style heads topped with PSI C rotor supercharger. Their 9 year old son Tyler will be racing Jr. Dragster next year. From left to right, Tyler, Bobby and Lisa Dodrill. The car run’s mid eights and is very consistent, he will have his hands full going rounds this weekend with some fast competition.Ron Fisher is still working the tune up out in his gorgeous supercharged Chevelle. He put up a 4.70 on this pass after an easy safe start for a nice A to B pass.Damon Chin runs this Supra for Resado Racing and will be looking to break into the 5 second zone this weekend. He ran a 6.13 at the World Sport Compact Challange here in Orlando three weeks ago making him the 5th fastest import car in the world.

10.0 and 8.50 have an interesting mix of car types and brands with a good car count in both classes. Heavy Street was the first heads up class in qualifying after 10.0 and 8.50 Index. Lil Bull put up an 8.64 at 159 MPH.Ken Quartuccio is running Outlaw/X632 this weekend as well as Heavy Street which he ran a 7.02 at 178 this afternoon but his chute didn’t deploy and he ran off the end of the track into the grass before getting stopped. He and the car are ok as he made the qualifying round for 632 this evening putting up a 4.55 at 159.68 MPH.Ricky Smith and Kevin Fiscus were the first pair out in Pro Mod this afternoon making the quickest side by side match ever here in Orlando. Smith took the tree and the win light with a 5.84 at 247 though that’s not so relevant in qualifying. For his part Fiscus ran a 5.78 at 260 putting both cars well under the current ET record of 5.92. It’s safe to say the game is afoot.Jerico Balduf was paired with Adam Flamholc with both cars running 5.91 at 236 MPH, a new best for Balduf.Isaoas Rojas had a nice 6.08 at 236 to land sixth in Pro Mod.Puerto Rico based Jorge Lazcano has his hand full with this short wheelbase Corolla. He sits on top of World Street with a 6.33 at 225 MPH.Outlaw 632 racer Troy Blake laid down a 4.50 at 161 MPH, good for second in class behind Jeff Ensslin.Lakeland, Florida based Jeff Ensslin put the “Still Doin Time” 37 Chevy on the provisional pole in Outlaw 632.Ron Fisher leads Radial vs the World with his 4.82 at 159, just edging out Josh Klugger’s 4.82 at 160.Charles Hull leads Outlaw 275 with a 4.41 at 164 with Kenny Markwich in second with a 4.50 at 167.Scott Husted sits in third after the fuel pump drive cable gave up. He coasted through to a 4.89 at 116 in his first full attempt on the MT 275 Pro Radial.275 record holder David Pearson made the drive down but struggled on his first attempt to a 5.61 and seventh in the field so far.Troy Pirez Jr. had an unexpected wheel stand out to near the 330 in Ultra Street.Eric Kenward leads the Ultra Street field putting the turbocharged Malibu Wagon deep in the 4.9s with a 4.938 at 143.Mike Freeman put himself in third with a 4.993 at 143 for Team ATF. Walter Drakeford sits second with his nitrous huffing 86 Stang.
