SCHUMACHER, WILKERSON, LINE, KRAWIEC GRAB GATORNATIONALS VICTORIES

Rain put a gloomy outlook on things early on, but when the racing kicked off Friday afternoon, it was great as always. Mickey Thompson Monday Morning Race Report

NHRA Pro Mod: This weekend in Gainesville was the first race for Pro Mod as a legit class, and not as an exhibition.  Canadian Kenny Lang would be the first to win in his 1953 Corvette over Michael Gullqvist’s  ’68 Camaro.  Coverage of the Pro Mods at the Gatornationals can be found at Competition Plus.com and Drag Race Central.com.

NMCA: The NMCA is gearing up for their season opener in Bradenton March 19-21st. Coverage will be provided at the race on Street Muscle.com. Troy Coughlin was testing his new Camaro for NMCA competition while his last year’s NMCA championship car ended up being converted to NHRA Pro Mod trim.

ADRL: Teams have been testing in Bradenton, amongst other places. The ADRL will kick off racing this weekend in Houston. Mike Castellana’s new Al-Anabi Camaro was there, piloted by Shannon Jenkins (who also had his car there). Check back this weekend for updates from Houston here on Dragzine.

IHRA: Two races this weekend going on in Texas this weekend.  First up was The IHRA Pro Am tour ran at Dallas Raceway.  Check out IHRA.com

Texas Outlaw Racing: Nineteen Pro Mod teams would show up for the race with Frankie Taylor taking the win.  Cody Barklage would set a track ET record with a 3.713 @ 200 mph.  Their next points event will be during the ADRL race next weekend. Pro Mod results can be found at Drag List.com

ANDRA: Perth-based Chartered Accountant, Robin Judd, has retained his Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) Pro Series Top Doorslammer championship lead after coming runner-up at the recent Westernationals at the Perth Motorplex.  For more on the ANDRA check out their website.

PSCA: The PSCA got a late start for their first race in Fontana due to high winds.  As the sun fell Sunday, the racing would be postponed as they got into the third round of eliminations.  For qualifying and some elimination results, visit the PSCA Message Board.

Huntsville Dragway: The “Outlaws are Back” race was postponed due to bad weather.  Stay tuned to the Huntsville Dragway site for updates on a new date.

IHRA Pro Am – Dallas Raceway, March 12th-14th 2010
The first race on the IHRA Division 4 (Renegades) tour landed at Dallas Raceway. Top Dragster final would go to J.R. Lobner over Don Aydelott with a 7.157 on a 7.150 dial.  A close win in Super Rod went to Clark Mundt who broke out by .001, though his competitor Philip Pennington would break out worse with a -.007.
