Mickey Thompson Monday Morning Race Report
NMRA: It is the second race of the year for the NMRA in Commerce, though the first time the race is ran as a non-points event. As the rain threatened the racing for Sunday, they ran all the qualifying and eliminations on Saturday. Check out StangTV.com for the coverage.
NHRA zMax: The first ever 4-wide competition race happened in Charlotte this weekend. Sunday was again plagued by rain, though all finals were finished up earlier today. Mike Edwards would continue is tare in Pro Stock, Matt Smith would take PSM, Cory McClenathan in Top Fuel Dragster and John Force in Funny Car. SHRA PBIR: The highlight of the SHRA PBIR race was the match race between old racing foes Pat Musi and Tony Christian. Musi would take the win and even run a stellar 3.91 pass. Results in various threads can be found on YellowBullet.com
WCHRA: The West Coast Hot Rods rolled into FAMOSO for their second race of the season. While complete results are not posted yet, we did notice a strong field in Pro Street with runs in the low 6-second range. Roger Holder came out with a solid 4.642 pass to take the number one spot in True 10.5. Check out some results on the WCHRA Message Board and photo galleries on BangShift.com.
NHRA Lucas Oil – While the pro racing was going on at zMax, the Pacific division was running their race in Tuscon, AZ. Jim Whiteley would defeat Shawn Cowie with a 5.525 to a 5.570 in Top Alcohol dragster. While on the Funny Car side, Sean O’Bannon would defeat Doug Gordon with a close 5.707 to a 5.755.
