Running cars four wide is a new thing that some fans love and some hate. Most driver’s responses to running four wide it, “It’s surprising at first to see a car on your right AND left.” But to fans upon the first pass seeing that many cars run might knock you off of your feet. The action is hard to follow in such a short amount of time but unarguably exciting.
Every ticket at Zmax is also a pit pass for fans to get up close with teams as they worked and many drivers spending time to sign autographs. Before the pits was Nitro Alley filled with a variety of vendors from Holley to Mopar.
The weekend consisted of the top dogs in NHRA to a modest turn out from the SS cars and others. The event was an exciting mix. Friday went by smoothly but a nasty storm moved in slowly Saturday morning. With a late rush by teams to pack up as a forecast of severe weather was expected to last an hour or more. Luckily it blew over quickly and by early afternoon teams was back on the track. Check out our full gallery below
