Momentum has been one of the defining themes of Chad Green’s 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season, and the Texas racer hopes to keep that trend alive this weekend at the Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals.
Green enters Pacific Raceways with two Funny Car victories already on the season and another opportunity to climb the championship standings. This weekend also carries extra significance for Chad Green Motorsports, as Rottler Manufacturing, headquartered in nearby Kent, Washington, will serve as the primary sponsor of Green’s 330-mph Ford Mustang Funny Car during its home race.
For a longtime partner with deep roots in the Pacific Northwest, a trip to the Seattle winner’s circle would make the weekend even more meaningful.
Rottler Manufacturing Returns As Primary Sponsor
Rottler Manufacturing has supported Chad Green Motorsports for several seasons, making the Northwest Nationals a natural fit for the partnership.
The Kent, Washington-based company has built its reputation through innovative product development and high-volume production remanufacturing, and this weekend it will receive top billing on one of the quickest Funny Cars in the NHRA.
Green has already rewarded his partners with victories at the season-opening Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals and the Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals. As the Countdown to the Championship draws closer, adding a third Wally trophy would provide another boost in the title chase while delivering a memorable result for Rottler in front of its hometown crowd.
Currently sixth in the NHRA Mission Funny Car standings after 11 events, Green remains firmly in championship contention with nine races still remaining on the schedule.
Chad Green Believes His Team Is Ready
The Funny Car category continues to feature one of the deepest fields in professional drag racing, but Green believes his team has assembled a combination capable of winning anywhere on the tour.
He knows success at Pacific Raceways will require four mistake-free rounds against elite competition, but confidence inside the Chad Green Motorsports camp remains high.
“We are very excited to have Rottler back on our Ford Mustang this weekend at Seattle,” said Green. “They have been a great partner with Chad Green Motorsports over the years, and I would love to put them in the winner’s circle at their home race. It won’t be easy as this NHRA Funny Car class is so competitive and always tough to get through four rounds. But we feel our car can win this weekend. Our crew has been working hard to be consistent and make solid runs. I think we have a good combination for the Northwest Nationals.”
That consistency has been one of the biggest improvements for Green’s program throughout 2026. The team has demonstrated race-winning speed while steadily positioning itself among the championship contenders heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
Blake Alexander Returns To A Familiar Pacific Raceways
The Chad Green Motorsports organization will also field its second Funny Car this weekend with veteran driver Blake Alexander returning to one of his stronger tracks on the NHRA schedule.
Alexander, a four-time NHRA national event winner, has enjoyed several impressive performances at Pacific Raceways over the years and believes the unique characteristics of the Seattle facility create excellent opportunities for nitro teams.
The Charlotte-based driver is searching for his first NHRA national event victory since Brainerd in 2024 and feels the CGM Pronto Funny Car continues to improve with every race. Hunter Green has shared driving duties in the Alexander-driven entry during select events throughout the 2026 season, giving the organization valuable data across multiple race weekends.
Pacific Raceways Rewards Power And Precision
Pacific Raceways has long been known as one of the fastest tracks on the NHRA schedule.
Its tree-lined setting often produces favorable atmospheric conditions that allow crew chiefs to be aggressive with their tune-ups, resulting in some of the quickest nitro runs of the season.
Alexander believes those conditions could play directly into the strengths of the Chad Green Motorsports program.
“I’m anxious to compete in Seattle this year,” said Alexander. “We have had some good races there in the past and the track is always fast. With the trees near the track, the nitro cars can produce more horsepower. And the crews really get up for the Seattle race. Our CGM guys are doing a good job with our cars this year, and I think we can contend if things go our way.”
With only a handful of races remaining before the NHRA Countdown to the Championship begins, every elimination round has become increasingly valuable.
Green enters Seattle looking to strengthen his position in the Funny Car standings while continuing one of the most successful seasons of his professional career. A third victory would further establish Chad Green Motorsports as one of the category’s emerging championship threats and provide the perfect result for longtime partner Rottler Manufacturing during its home event.
