BROWN, DEJORIA, LINE WINNERS AS NHRA HITS SIN CITY
Alexis DeJoria won in Funny Car for the first time since 2014 on Sunday at Las vegas, joining Antron Brown (Top Fuel) and Jason Line (Pro Stock) on the winners podium.

Alexis DeJoria snapped a long winless streak in Funny Car dating back to the 2014 season Sunday at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, defeating teammate Del Worsham in the final round, 3.96 to a close 3.98. In Top Fuel, Antron Brown downed first-time finalist Troy Buff in an exciting finale, as Buff took a big advantage out of the gate and nearly won it, slowing at the stripe and dropping the match, 3.84 to a 3.91. And in Pro Stock, KB Racing kept their domination of the EFI era in the class alive, as Jason Line ousted teammate Bo Butner in the final, 6.71 to a quicker but red-lighting 6.70.

NMCA WEST Spring Nationals
The NMCA WEST kicked off its 2016 season over the weekend with the Nitto Tire Spring Nationals at the Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, California, where Greg Seth-Hunter headed up the winner’s list with his victory in Pro Mod, downing Mark Moffat in the final, 4.15 to a 4.39. In Limited Street, top qualifier James Lawrence defeated Roger Rydell in the finale, 4.53 to 4.67, while Mike Silva claimed Ultra Street honors over Bill Wallace, 5.46 to 5.63.

Radial Revenge Tour
In what could be considered the single most impressive radial tire race in history, the Radial vs The World record was lowered a full .06-seconds and was exchanged by three different drivers during the Radial Revenge Tour event over the weekend at the Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park. Kyle Huettel and the Bad9er team, the incoming record holders, closed the weekend with a stunning record of 3.81-seconds, but it was Andrew Alepa and driver Rob Valden that won the war, defeating Shawn Ayers in the final round, 3.86 to a 3.94. In X275, Shane Fisher downed Eric Moore, 4.47 to a 4.52, while Justin Martin was able to stay out in front of a late-leaving Craig Ondrick to win Limited Drag Radial on a huge holeshot, 4.37 to a 4.30.

IHRA Texas Nationals
Defending Nitro Funny Car champion Jason Rupert captured his first win of the 2016 campaign Saturday night at the Good Vibrations Texas Nationals in San Antonio, downing Shawn Bowen in the final round, 5.64 to a 5.75. In Pro Stock, John Kinigshofer defeated Trevor Eman on a holeshot, 6.25 to a 6.24, and Billy Harper collected Pro Modified honors with a 5.84-second ousting of Ruben Tetsoshvili.

NHRA Division 2
The NHRA’s Southeast Division contested its Southern Shakedown doubleheader at the Atlanta Dragway over the weekend, featuring a pair of points-paying divisional events wrapped into one. Veteran Randy Daniels captured the Competition Eliminator crown in race one, edging out Van Puckett in the final round. Puckett, however, turned around and won the second event. Ohio’s Aaron Allison claimed Super Stock honors in race one, defeating Marion Stephenson. Allison, like Puckett, came close to doubling-up, losing in the final round of Sunday’s race to Irvin Johns.
