“Daddy Dave” Comstock, a beloved figure among fans of the popular show “Street Outlaws,” achieved a long-awaited victory on Saturday night at the “No Prep Kings” event in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The win marked a significant milestone in Comstock’s career, as it was his first-ever win in the series. Going head-to-head with Nate Sayler in the finale, Comstock maneuvered his ProCharger/Hemi-powered Audi S5 to victory. Not only did he secure a prize of $40,000, but Comstock and his team also earned crucial points that contributed to their standings in both the individual Great 8 and team championship rankings.

Comstock’s weekend in Kentucky seemed to be on the verge of disaster when a broken rearend during his test run on Friday evening forced him to watch from the sidelines as his opponent, Tim Brown, claimed a solo victory and an automatic invitational bid. Yet, luck smiled upon Comstock as he was among the fortunate two drivers selected via chip draw to fill the final two spots in the main event on Saturday. With an offsite replacement rearend constructed overnight and delivered to the racetrack, Comstock managed to make it to the opening round just in time.
Throughout the weekend, Comstock benefited from the wizardry of FuelTech’s Luis de Leon, who lended his tuning expertise to Comstock’s program. Comstock’s path to the final involved defeating formidable opponents such as Joe “Dominator” Woods, David Gates, Justin Swanstrom, and Scott Taylor. Emerging triumphant, Comstock’s win propelled him to a tied position for 10th in the individual points ranking and 8th in the Great 8. Furthermore, this victory brought his team, which he captains, to a dead-heat with Kye Kelley’s squad at the top of the team leaderboard.
On Friday, Larry “Axman” Roach showcased his prowess behind the wheel of Stephen Brindle’s “Game Changer” Ford Mustang. This captivating evening marked the first “No Prep Kings” Great 8 victory for Roach’s crew, overshadowing his teammate Kayla Morton, who also hails from “Daddy Dave” Comstock’s team.

Roach, a seasoned veteran of the series, displayed his skill by overcoming fierce opponents. In the earlier rounds, he bested Lizzy Musi and Giuseppe Gentile, earning his place in the final. Meanwhile, Morton ousted Jim Howe (driving John Odom’s Nissan GTR) and a dominant Kye Kelley in a thrilling semifinal round. Chase Driskell, the mastermind behind tuning the cars of both Roach and Morton, also had a remarkable night of success.
In what became an anti-climactic final, Morton’s Mustang rolled through the lights, handing Roach an automatic victory. This win propelled Roach to the leading position in the Great 8 points, surpassing Ryan Martin. As for Morton, her well-deserved appearance in the final round put her in a five-way tie for second place, alongside Martin, Kelley, Gentile, and David Gates.
The series now sets its sights on the fifth stop of the season, taking place at the New England Dragway in Epping, New Hampshire, this weekend.
