Josh Hart To Drive John Force Racing Top Fueler In 2026

The next chapter in John Force Racing’s storied Top Fuel legacy is officially set. The powerhouse organization has signed Josh Hart, a two-time NHRA Top Fuel national event winner and multi-time U.S. Nationals champion, to a multi-year deal beginning with the 2026 NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida.

Hart, who’s built his own competitive program under the Burnyzz Speed Shop banner, will step into the seat vacated by Brittany Force, who recently announced she’ll step away from full-time competition at the end of the 2025 season to start a family.

The move pairs Hart with crew chiefs Dave Grubnic and John Collins, giving him access to one of the most successful tuning duos in Top Fuel. His longtime sponsor, Burnyzz Speed Shop, will continue to back the effort as he transitions into the JFR lineup.

“I have always said ‘Anything’s Possible’ and this opportunity proves that statement. I want to thank John Force and the entire John Force Racing team for being open to this endeavor,” said Hart. “No one can replace Brittany Force and what she has done for the sport and this organization. I have been building my program on my own for five seasons, and I have learned a tremendous amount. I want to continue to learn from the best, and John Force Racing is the best drag racing team in the history of the sport. My goal is to continue learning, winning races, and Top Fuel championships as a driver and teammate.”

For John Force, adding Hart to the stable is part of a bigger plan for the future.

“I have been talking to Josh for a while, and every time we talked, it just made sense for our team to add someone like him,” said John Force, CEO and 16-time NHRA Funny Car champion. “He is a family guy, and he is a businessman. John Force Racing is evolving, and we have to feed the monster. Josh runs a huge operation in Florida, and I was impressed when I saw it a few years ago. Our team is going to keep growing and winning championships with Austin and Jack, and Josh. Our focus now is on winning this season’s Top Fuel and Funny Car championships, and then we will start working on 2026.”

Hart’s track record speaks for itself. He launched his own Top Fuel operation in 2021 and immediately made headlines by winning his debut race at the Gatornationals. He followed that up with another win later that season at the Carolina Nationals and grabbed the NHRA Top Fuel All-Star Callout title in 2023.

Before making the jump to Top Fuel, Hart was a standout in Top Alcohol Dragster, winning back-to-back U.S. Nationals titles in 2018 and 2019 and stacking up 11 wins between national and regional competition.

Currently sitting 10th in the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Top Fuel standings, Hart plans to finish strong before making the move to his new ride.

“There have been a lot of rumors about my future since my announcement to sell my racing operation, but I had a plan the whole time,” said Hart. “I hope making this announcement, the first of many, will answer some questions. I have been blown away by the support and interest in my driving future, and I hope this announcement answers a lot of questions. I want to stay focused on winning races for the rest of the season.”

When the NHRA celebrates its 75th anniversary season in 2026, Hart will roll into Gainesville in one of the most high-profile seats in the sport, carrying forward a tradition of performance, family, and grit that’s made John Force Racing a 23-time championship powerhouse.
