Anyone who has driven a racecar, regardless of the type of track it was on, understands how dangerous driving can be. Safety has to be every teams first concern, even before winning. Ask any driver that has been involved in a scary accident and they will agree. One of the greatest safety innovations to come available to drivers in recent years has been the full containment seat.

Kirkey Racing Fabrication have been developing their own Full Containment seat for quite sometime now, and unveiled it at the 2011 PRI show. “It’s been about a one year process with a lot of time and effort, the R&D was phenomenal,” explained Kevin Derochie of Kirkey Seats.

The seat comes with the very important SFI safety certification and includes the following features:

  • SFI 45.2 Certified head surround
  • Fire retardant cover and foam padding
  • head surround is adjustable vertically and horizontally
  • easy installation with multiple bottom mounting locations, and pre-installed rear mounts
  • Weight 45.6lbs with cover

Kirkey is known throughout the racing industry for providing a very safe seat, all while keeping the costs very affordable for the grassroots racer. They’ve been able to accomplish this with their latest full containment seat. The seat retails for $2,250 with optional features like adjustable leg separator and leg extensions. “2250 is a very reasonable price especially when you consider that seat is SFI certified,” Explained Derochie.
