Nissan GT-R Fun Fact

The stock, turbocharged DOHC 3.8L V6 Nissan GR-R powerplant produces an impressive 478 horsepower and 434 ft-lbs of torque, enabling 1/4-mile times in the mid-11’s straight off the showroom floor.

Regardless of which side of the fence you’re on, sport compacts are an integral part of the drag racing puzzle these days.  In both America and abroad, some downright impressive machines are cranking out numbers in the mid sixes at well over 200 miles per hour from relatively miniscule inline four bangers and V6’s. This is a segment of the racing industry that many manufacturers, including the highly respected Ferrea Racing Components, has embraced with open arms and delivered a number of high-end components for.

Along with their lineup of valves, retainers, and other valvetrain components for virtually anything that uses a valve, Ferrea is proudly showcasing their aftermarket pieces for the powerful Nissan GT-R that includes both a single spring setup for your more street performance vehicles, and a dual spring for all-out racing applications.

For these engine combinations, Ferrea offers Super Alloy stainless steel exhaust valves, EV8-Z18 High Tensile stainless steel Competition Plus or standard 1mm oversize intake valves, highly-polished military spec titanium retainers, CNC finished and black oxide steel Spring Seat Locators, , fully-machined 4140 chrome moly steel Valve Locks, copper-bronze intake and exhaust guides, and high temperature Rubber Valve seats.

Ferrea's Nissan GT-R parts lineup includes both single and dual pacalloy valve springs, micropolished Competition Plus or standard 1mm oversize intake valves, copper-bronze valve guides, military spec titanium retainers, and a number of other high-end racing pieces.

The single spring approach utilizes a titanium retainer and steel spring seat locators with a black oxide makeup, and 4140 chromoly steel valve locks. Both the single and dual valve spring setups are made from a super clean pacalloy material.  The micropolished Competition Plus and standard-sized valves maintain the OEM design of the GT-R valves, which features a thicker stem for durability in coping with the boost delivered from the GT-R’s factory turbocharger setup.

On the domestic side of things, Ferrea recently launched a number of new valvetrain parts for the 5.0L Coyote used in the 2011-12 Mustang GT. Ferrea has offered these in two different packages; one aimed at the street market and another for racing. These include valves, springs, retainers, and spring seat locators.

The street package utilizes a single spring, 6000 Series titanium valve, titanium retainers and spring seat locators. The race package, meanwhile, features upgraded Competition Plus series valves, titanium retainers and spring seat locators, and dual valve springs in a package aimed at the boosted and nitrous-fed crowd.
