No trip through the PRI tradeshow is complete without stopping at VP Racing Fuels to find out what is new with the company that has been focused on racing fuels for over 35 years.
When we stopped at the booth and talked to Steve Scheidker, Vice President of Marketing for VP Racing Fuels, we were shocked to hear Scheidker talking about storage and not about fuels making power.
Scheidker showed us the VP Racing fuel solution to this problem. VP Racing Fuels new C9 racing fuel is the perfect storage fuel stated Scheidker. “It’s a non-oxygenated, ethanol free and unleaded fuel that prevents problems that are associated with ethanol fuels.”
According to Scheidker,”leaving gas, pump gas or otherwise, in your fuel tank puts the engine and fuel system in jeopardy. Especially for extended periods of time. Modern pump gasoline contains ethanol which tends to leave deposits, clogs injectors, attracts moisture for the air and the gas separates during storage.” We also addressed methanol fuels and how damaging they can be on the fuel system when stored for the off season or between races.
C9 fuel will remain stable at least two years in a sealed container. The most exciting benefit that we heard when Scheidker was explaining the features was that the C9 storage fuel could sit idle in a fuel system for months without peril. Scheidker told us, “C9 fuel will remain stable at least two years in a sealed container.”
With the race season winding down, we now have a storage fuel that will help us protect the fuel system and race engine for next season.
