Officially called the JBRC4050CN Cordless Air Pump, the crew at Jerry Bickel Race Cars were proud to show us the latest in air pressure management for racers where tire pressure is an issue. According to JBRC’s Steve Klosterhoff, “This pump is handy for getting the tires of proper pressure in the staging lanes. The pump can fit in most pit tow vehicles. It has a built-in gauge, inflates up to 160psi, and has a safety lock switch, plus it comes with a HD Carring Case, Ni-Cad Battery and Charger.”

Not a new concept by any means, but this model has been well thought out and includes a longer air hose for use on a wider range or wheels and the deeper wheels typically used in drag racing. Not only is the air hose assembly longer to accommodate wider wheels, the hose is equipped with an air chuck that doesn’t require the end to be threaded on the tire’s Schrader valve.
Features of the Cordless Air Pump:
- Inflates up to 160 psi
- Cordless and portable
- Built-in gauge
- Safety lock switch
- Fast charging (3-5 hours)
- Ni-Cad battery
- HD plastic Case
Spare batteries are available, and a great idea if your crew wants to keep one on the unit and one on the charger for quick replacement. Klosterhoff explains the intent behind this unit by saying, “our intention is to provide a tool to help guys add a pound or two of pressure in the staging lanes. We wanted something that was applicable to all classes and everyone could use.”
With a retail price tag of under $50, this is the perfect stocking stuffer for your favorite racer.
