The Performance Racing Industry trade show is and always has been about all things racing, from dirt oval track racing to tractor pulling, sports car road racing, and everything in between. But here at Dragzine, we’re focused on one thing and one thing only, and that’s drag racing, and there’s always a healthy contingent of straight-line cars and stars at this must-see industry event. To bring those of you who couldn’t be here a look at PRI from a drag racing perspective, we set off to walk every aisle of the Indiana Convention Center — more than 10,000 steps worth in one fell swoop — to capture nearly every drag racing machine in display.
From Nostalgia Nitro Funny Cars and Alcohol Funny Cars to the famous machines of Discovery Channels’ Street Outlaws, it’s all here. You’ll notice an all-new Chevrolet Camaro Top Alcohol Funny Car body that Five Star Bodies has developed and put on display here at the show. As we understand, GM has been entertaining at least one NHRA nitro team, as well, perhaps marking a return to Funny Car racing for the vaunted Camaro. Also on hand is Tom Bailey’s all-new, still-in-progress Sick Seconds 2.0 Camaro being built by Skinny Kid Race Cars, Morgan Lucas’ nostalgia flopper being shown to the public for the first time, Dina Parise’s gorgeous Cadillac CTS-V Pro Mod, and the quickest radar tire car in the world, belonging to Brad Edwards.
