Bob Mandell’s official title may be fabricator and race car builder, but he could just as easily be considered an artist. His latest creation, the Miss Sexy II 1967 Chevy II Nova wagon, is an exquisite build that would look equally at home in an art exhibit or at any drag strip in the world.

Anything that rolls out of Mandell’s shop, Bob’s Pro-Fab Chassis Shop, is a well-put-together machine, but this Nova takes things to an entirely new level. The body originally started life as a Tim McAmis Race Cars 1967 Nova coupe. Wanting a wagon, Mandell stacked up carbon fiber and went to work transforming the rear half of the coupe into what you see today. All of the carbon fiber was hand-laid without a mold and designed to be as aerodynamic as possible.

To be competitive in the brutally demanding world of Top Sportsman racing, Mandell installed a 540 cubic-inch engine from Oakley Performance. Boost comes courtesy of a Vortec V30 supercharger. Behind the engine is an Abruzzi Racing Powerglide transmission and torque converter. This combination has propelled the wagon to an impressive 6.205-second pass at 229 mph.

Mandell also built the chassis in-house at his shop. The front of the Nova features a set of Strange Ultra Struts along with a Strange rack-and-pinion steering system. Out back, a custom four-link rear suspension works with a Strange floater rearend, billet third member, and Strange shocks. Topping it all off is a custom paint job inside and out by Steve at S&O Enterprises.

Be sure to check out the video where Mandell provides a complete breakdown of the Miss Sexy II wagon, covering every detail that went into this incredible build.
