At the 2025 PRI Show, FuelTech brought the heat with a lineup of new EFI products aimed at racers of all levels—from junior dragsters to high-horsepower doorslammers. We spoke with Luis De Leon from FuelTech, who walked us through the latest tech designed to give racers more control, efficiency, and power.

First up is FuelTech’s single-cylinder EFI billet throttle body, developed specifically for junior dragsters. Luis explained that FuelTech sees junior dragsters as the foundation of drag racing, and the goal with this throttle body is to bring a more modern, realistic EFI experience to the youngest racers. The unit is Brazilian-made and designed to work with FuelTech’s injector line, allowing kids to get early exposure to EFI systems that mirror what they’ll see in larger cars later in their careers. It’s an approachable, race-ready solution that bridges the gap between carburetors and modern EFI technology.

FuelTech FT SPark Max2000

On the high-performance side, FuelTech introduced the third-generation FT Spark unit, nicknamed Max 2000. This CDI ignition system delivers up to 2,000 millijoules of energy—nearly three times more than the previous generation—while maintaining the same housing, connector, and form factor for easy swaps. It’s designed for drag and drive applications, fuel cars, and door cars alike, offering precise ignition control, power management, and enhanced tuning capabilities right out of the box.

The second performance innovation is the Pro HV high-voltage injector driver. This versatile driver works with both direct-injection and port-injection setups, dramatically increasing injector speed and allowing the use of much larger injectors in applications previously limited to strict drag racing setups. The system improves fuel control, power management, and overall engine response, making it a universal solution for modern EFI applications. This seems like one of these sneaky awesome products you don’t think about until you see someone build something cool with it.

Both the FT Spark Max 2000 and the Pro HV injector driver share the same robust, water-resistant housing and connector, ensuring durability in rough engine-bay environments. Combined, these products give racers more power, tighter fuel management, and better overall engine control than ever before.

FuelTech’s new offerings show that whether you’re starting out in a junior dragster or building a high-horsepower race car, the company is thinking about performance, reliability, and real-world usability from the ground up.
