SEMA 2011: Powerstop Brakes Extreme Truck And Tow Brake Kit

The Z36 pads offer a coefficient of friction 17% higher than OE pads

Anyone that has ever towed a vehicle through the mountains understands how tough it can be on the truck, but especially the brakes. Sometimes you will literally be on the brakes for miles trying to slow down the truck from reaching extreme speeds. This constant braking will lead to overheating of the brakes and put everyone in the tow vehicle in danger. This is why looking at a brake pad upgrade might be a good idea. We came across a good option at SEMA 2011, with Powerstop Brakes’Extreme Truck And Tow Brake kit.

The Z36 truck and tow pads are a great way to keep your tow vehicle under control. “The Z36 pads offer a coefficient of friction 17% higher than OE pads,” Said Willy Williams of Powerstop Brakes. The Z36 brakes features include:

  • Excellent strength and product life
  • Maximum high heat stopping power
  • engineered to solve the toughest brake challenges for trucks and SUV’s
  • Superior control and stability
  • Thermally stable compound to provide stopping power when you need it most

You can combine these pads with Powerstop’s drilled and slotted rotors to have not only aftermarket pads, but also aftermarket rotors. These drilled and slotted rotors give you the advantages of both drilled holes for cooling, and slots to sweep away gas and dust.

For the folks that won’t necessarily tow a vehicle, but are looking for a upgrade for their everyday driver. They also offer a Z16 ceramic brake kit for highway, urban, and bad weather driving. The kit features include:

  • Enhanced poly ceramic formula for noise free braking
  • Low dust formulation
  • 20% more stopping power than other leading brands
  • Thermal scorched for high pre-burnish friction and fast break-in
  • Dual active rubber shims provide 6 times more noise reduction
  • OEM positive mold technology for consistent fade free performance.
