SEMA 2025 has been a flood of new parts for the S650 platform, and Livernois Motorsports brought something that addresses a real-world problem for Ford owners. Anyone who has tried to launch a 2024-26 Mustang GT or Dark Horse on sticky tires knows that the factory Super 8.8 rearend has a tendency to move around. That deflection kills traction and breaks parts.
Drawing on their deep history in drag racing, Livernois showed up with a solution: the new S650 Differential Brace. This isn’t just jewelry for the undercarriage; it is engineered to handle transbrake launches and high-horsepower abuse while keeping everything straight.

We chatted with JP Lammers at the booth, and he explained that the development process was pretty rigorous. They didn’t just eyeball it. The engineering team scanned the entire underside of the car to map out the mounting points perfectly. Lammers pointed out that this isn’t a rehash of their previous work.
While their Explorer brace uses a two-piece design, the Mustang’s layout forced them to get creative with a specific three-piece architecture. The S650 Differential Brace uses a smart triangulated mounting strategy combined with a mid-plate elliptical polyurethane bushing. That combination acts like an anchor, significantly reducing the differential’s ability to twist under load.

When a diff twists, you get wheelhop and misalignment, which stresses the axles and driveshaft until they snap. This brace stops that drama before it starts. Livernois didn’t cut corners on the materials, either. The system is built from a mix of CNC-machined billet aluminum and coated chromoly steel components. They also spec’d it with Automotive Racing Products (ARP) fasteners, so you don’t have to worry about hardware failure when the light turns green. It’s designed to be tough enough for the strip but corrosion-resistant enough for a daily driver.
If you are planning to chase 8-second passes or just want to preserve your driveline, this is a solid investment. It’s a robust, bolt-on upgrade that takes the slop out of the drivetrain. Installing the Livernois S650 Differential Brace means you can finally trust your car to plant the power and go.
