SEMA 2025: VMP’s Leviathan Turbo Coyote Intake Brings More Power

VMP Performance has long been a heavyweight name in the performance world, carving out its reputation by engineering hardware to make supercharged Fords faster. Now, at SEMA 2025, the company is widening its focus to the turbo crowd with the debut of the Leviathan Turbo Coyote Intake. This new system, comprising the VMP Leviathan Turbo Hat and Leviathan Lower Intake Manifold, is designed for the high-revving Ford Coyote 5.0-liter, Voodoo 5.2-liter, and Predator 5.2-liter V8 engines.

This setup is a clever pivot, leveraging VMP’s extensive knowledge of intercooling from their blower applications. “At first glance, this is a pretty simple part, but in combination with the air-to-water intercooling system common to many supercharged GT500s and Coyotes, it opens up a world of possibilities,” Justin Starkey of VMP Performance told us. “Think of it as an easy transition from blower to turbo, or just a way to go turbo from the start.”

VMP’s expertise in supercharged induction is the foundation here. They developed a new lower intake specifically designed to house their efficient VMP Street Intercooler Upgrade. This is paired with an upper hat optimized for turbo applications, utilizing patent-pending technology that VMP perfected for optimizing airflow in their Apex Predator Supercharger lids for the new Shelby GT500s.

The company also knows that a big boost needs big cooling. The intercooler core is ready for extreme applications, able to accept 3/4-inch, 1-inch, or -20 AN inlets to keep charge air temperatures in check. Furthermore, the Leviathan Turbo Coyote Intake system is built for flexibility. VMP, which already develops its own line of throttle bodies, designed the Turbo Hat to accept the stock 80mm Coyote throttle body (with an adapter) as well as various larger aftermarket throttle bodies.

This might be VMP’s first dedicated turbo product, but it’s clear it won’t be the last. The company has plans to expand this new line into a complete turbo cold side, including everything from the heat exchanger and manifold to a trunk ice tank. The Leviathan Turbo Coyote Intake is VMP’s clear signal that they are serious about the turbo market.
