If you think you bring a lot of stuff to the racetrack, you should see what a nitro team stuffs in its trailer. It takes an epic amount of parts and equipment to keep a nitro car running during an event. In this episode of Dragzine’s Tech Inspection, we take a look at what’s inside one of John Force Racing’s rigs.

The first thing you’ll notice about a nitro team’s race trailer is the organization. Just about every part you can imagine needed to run one of these cars is brought to the track, and everything has a place in the rig. Teams will also bring multiples of those parts if their budgets allow. Basically, if you had a bare chassis, you could build an entire car at the track.

A team will do as much prep work as possible at the shop before heading to the track. That means they’ll have preassembled racks of pistons, cylinder heads ready to bolt onto an engine, and even entire short blocks loaded up for the weekend. The goal is to save time, because when a team is on the turnaround clock, there’s no time to build anything. It’s all about assembling parts and getting the car ready to go.

Tim Fabrisi does an outstanding job taking us on a grand tour of the PEAK team’s trailer. You’re going to learn just how prepared these teams are and why they bring so much gear to the track.
