ATI Performance Products’ new T400 SuperCase has been well represented already this season by its customers who have garnered awards and laid down some serious numbers in testing with the SEMA Show award-winning piece.
At Lights Out IV Radial Revolution at the South Georgia Motorsports Park last month, radial tire racer Mark Woodruff split the victory in the Radial vs. The World category in his stunning ’69 Corvette when the event was cut short before its completion. Woodruff had driven his mount, powered by a Sonny’s Racing engine and backed with ATI’s new ProMod 2-Speed Turbo 400 transmission built by Mark Micke of M&M Transmissions, to a best of 4.35 at 182 mph.
Reigning Cecil County Dragway X275 champion and class frontrunner Dean Marinis also put the potential of the T400 SuperCase on display in Georgia, splitting the X275 victory with his Ford Mustang equipped with an ATI T400 SuperCase and ATI converter. Marinis ran low elapsed time of the event amongst a stout field of 57 entries in the popular 275 radial tire class, running as quick as 4.63 at 154 mph.
Another adopter of the ATI T400, Pro Street racer and chassis builder Jeff Lutz, added the new three-speed Outlaw transmission to his twin-turbocharged ’69 Camaro in the offseason, along with ATI’s SFI 29.2 SuperPlate and Damper. In early testing ahead of the 2013 NMCA campaign at the Bradenton Motorsports Park, Lutz rolled to an impressive 5.91 at a booming 252.59 mph and a 3.93 at 198 mph in the eight mile. Lut also grabbed his first piece of hardware of the season as he snatched the Outlaw Pro Mod win during Bradenton’s Heads UP Madness event.
