A long history of powering event winners and record-setting racers has kept the team at ATI Performance Products in Maryland in the forefront of the racer’s mindset.
During the 2013 race season, racers using ATI’s equipment were successful in many different venues. For example, Chris Rini won his fifth Big Dog Shootout at Piedmont Dragway, running a personal-best 3.80 at 194 MPH in the eighth-mile event. Rini has one of ATI’s T400 Outlaw three-speed transmissions using ATI’s Super F fluid, an Outlaw torque converter, ATI Super Plate and Super Damper.
Legendary Super Stock racer Dan Fletcher took home his 87th NHRA National win at the Auto Plus Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, PA, using a variety of ATI’s products including their transmission, a Treemaster torque converter, Super Damper, and Super F automatic transmission fluid.

Also in Super Stock, Byron Worner won the prestigious national championship with wins in Georgia, Cecil County, Maryland, and at New England Dragway using one of ATI’s Treemaster torque converters in his Camaro.
Even the ATI COPO Camaro “shop car” owned and driven by JC Beattie, Jr. got into the act in Super Stock’s SSA/A division during the 2013 season. Beattie, Jr. set the class record by running an 8.449 at 161.83 MPH at an NHRA race in Englishtown, running the car at a whopping 3,600 pounds on a true 10.5-inch Hoosier tire.
The COPO relies on a Katech-built supercharged engine routing the power through one of ATI’s Fuel Comp T400 transmissions. Inside the transmission, which uses the company’s SuperCase and Super ATF fluid, resides one of ATI’s 9-inch Fuel and Blown torque converters.
JC also uses one of the company’s 10-rib ATI Super Dampers to drive the supercharger.
