Austin Prock Dominates U.S. Nationals

Austin Prock and his John Force Racing teammates capped a remarkable weekend at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park by securing a second consecutive U.S. Nationals victory and collecting $330,000 in prize money. The reigning Funny Car world champion continued his dominant run with a 3.903-second pass at 332.92 mph to defeat teammate Jack Beckman in Monday’s final round.

The victory followed Prock’s triumph in Sunday’s PlayNHRA All-Star Callout, where he claimed the $80,000 prize. Prock also locked down the regular-season championship that netted him a cool $150,000 payday. His U.S. Nationals win added another $100,000, making him one of the sport’s highest earners of the weekend. Notably, even team owner John Force—himself a five-time U.S. Nationals winner—never managed to claim the prestigious title in back-to-back years.

“To win the U.S. Nationals in my rookie season (in Funny Car) was obviously really special,” said Prock. “We came out guns blazing, and it just put a little bit of an extra pep in our step, and to go out there and execute and do the job and have a dominant performance like we did last year, and then to come back again this year and do it is just surreal.

“It was a dream of mine to win a championship, but you never know if that’s going to happen. So many stars have to align. You have to get the right opportunity. You have to be surrounded by the right people. You have to have the right sponsors backing you. So, to get a U.S. Nationals win last year and then win the championship and then come back to win the Cornwell Quality Tools U.S Nationals again in our Cornwell Tools Chevrolet SS, I don’t even know what to say. You know, they say when you win the U.S. Nationals once, it puts you in an elite group. When you do it back-to-back, it’s an even more elite group.”

The victory marked his seventh of the 2025 season and his 19th overall, with 15 of those coming in just the last two years. His performance solidified his status as the Funny Car points leader heading into the Countdown to the Championship.
