Billet Beauty: Frankenstein Engineering Dynamics Billet Intakes

Frankenstein Engineering Dynamics has built a reputation for producing cylinder heads that flow massive amounts of air and help Top Fuel, Pro Mod, and Top Alcohol teams make the power needed to pick up wins across the drag racing world. Now, Frankenstein is stepping up further into the induction world with their line of billet intake manifolds. Frankenstein’s new Hemi, Freakshow, and Low-Pro intakes are designed to for any racer looking to get a new level of performance with a premium quality feel made right here in the USA.

Frankenstein’s desire to expand their intake offerings is what spurred the development of their new Hemi-based billet intake. The intake is designed to fit engines that fall within classes that use a conventional 4.800-inch bore space Hemi engine like the ones you would see in the NHRA, PDRA, and ADRL. According to Chris Frank from Frankenstein, this new intake brings a lot to the table.

“This intake makes more power due to properly designed and tuned runners, optimized plenum volumes, and even air distribution.  After that comes weight reduction, better structural integrity and, of course, killer looks.”

Besides the Hemi intake, Frankenstein also has the Freakshow LSX intake, an all-out high-ram billet intake manifold designed around their ALL-PRO 12-2 and 12-5 cylinder head castings. The Freakshow will soon be available for more heads when Frankenstein releases it with adjustable runner sizes. Frankenstein will also be introducing their Low-Pro billet intake for LSX applications that’s designed to fit under the stock hood of most late model Corvettes and Camaros. This new intake is designed to fit any LS7 heads, and future versions will fit square and cathedral port head designs of other heads as well.

Jesse Meagher from Frankenstein goes into detail about some of the design elements of the LSX intakes.

“Due to fitment constraints, extensive CAD and CFD modeling was used to ensure performance was never sacrificed in the process. Our initial model that is released and currently available for purchase is designed for LS7 applications. We will be releasing LS3 and cathedral port versions early this summer.”
