There are few shops as dedicated to drag-and-drive racing as Big 3 Racing. With deep roots in the drag-and-drive world, Big 3 Racing was the perfect choice as one of our builders for the Horsepower Wars C10 Shootout presented by Summit Racing. You’ve seen them in Episode One and Episode Two, and here’s your chance to learn more about this standout shop.
Big 3 Racing’s principal owners, Chuck Stefanski, Rick Trunkett, and Bob Hess Jr., have known each other for decades. They work together, build cars together, and have logged countless miles together at drag-and-drive events. Their trophy case also includes hardware from Drag Week and Sick Week.

The latest iteration of Big 3 Racing is located on the grounds of Darana Dragway West Salem in West Salem, Ohio. A devastating fire destroyed their Hinkley, Ohio, location, but that didn’t stop Big 3 Racing from moving forward. The team dug deep to build their dream shop—one that allows them to better serve customers and the racing community.
Inside the new shop, you’ll find a two-wheel-drive dyno, an all-wheel-drive dyno, and a 6,000-horsepower hub dyno. There’s also a dedicated area for custom fabrication work, parts sales, and, conveniently, a race track right next door. The shop specializes in building American muscle cars of all generations that are powered by V8 or V10 engines.
“Being a part of the C10 Shootout has been both stressful and awesome. There’s a lot that goes into building a truck like this, but we were able to power through the adversity we faced. Our team worked closely with the truck owner, David Lukason, to build something that fit his vision but was also going to perform well on the track. I think people are going to be surprised at how well the Big 10 performs on race day,” Stefanski explains.
Make sure you follow the Horsepower Wars Facebook page to catch all the bonus content released from the show. New episodes can be found on the Dragzine YouTube page, and each one will also be featured on Dragzine with extra information and behind-the-scenes pictures from the build.
