Chassis Engineering recently made it public that they will be fabricating complete cars again at their Florida facility. One of the first cars using their newly designed chassis is ready for paint and final assembly before hitting the track in the coming weeks. Ken Kershaw’s slick looking 2015 Chevrolet Camaro will be racing in both Top Sportsman and Outlaw 632, while helping Chassis Engineering develop new parts for future cars they build.
Kershaw’s Camaro will be using one of Chassis Engineering’s new Eliminator XTR 25.1G certified chrome-moly chassis and will be cloaked in a 2015 Pro Stock-legal Five Star Race Car body. Powering the car will be a 632 cubic-inch motor that features a sheet metal intake, dual carburetors and two stages of nitrous. Behind the motor will be an FTI Powerglide and converter, while an MSD Grid is used for electronics. Custom Koni double-adjustable shocks are used in the rear while a pair of Strange Engineering struts will handle the dampening duties in the front.
Curt Perry from Chassis Engineering adds some additional details about what this car’s role in the chassis program will be.
“This particular car is one of the first to roll out of the shop since we started building complete cars again. It was used to come up with different production tools and processes to make the building of future cars much easier. We’re also going to be using this car as an R&D piece for things like wishbone designs, bracket placement, and other small products.”
