Chassisworks Offers A Direct Replacement For Your GM A-Body

Chris Alston’s Chassisworks has reached another aftermarket milestone with their current, g-Bar/g-Link, canted-4-bar rear suspension assembly for all ’67-72 GM A-bodies with either a 10- or 12-bolt OEM housing, or Chassisworks’ FAB9 Ford 9-inch conversion housing.

A fully adjustable rear assembly, Chassisworks‘ 4-bar suspension can be calibrated from street friendly to strip competitive. This is because the g-Bar suspension can be set up for street use with Chassisworks’ urethane bushed g-Bar arms, the more handling oriented, pivot g-Link arms or the race exclusive, rod end equipped 4130 ProPower arms.

Whether your application is for competitive or recreational use, Chassisworks’ g-Bar rear suspension allows for variable running conditions. The range of applications for which the system can be used is even further broadened with the option of double or single, adjustable VariShock coilovers or air springs.

The VariShock springs have available two different styles of shock mounts. The first, a direct mounting set, bolts on to the vehicle’s current locations and only require a few additional drill holes to be secured.

The weld on brackets offer additional lower arm mounting holes, allowing for center of geometry adjustment. In order to accommodate wide rear tires, a weld on assembly can be used with an upper tubular crossmember and replacement axle brackets. Both bracket styles feature a multiple position, billet shock mount that allows for ride height adjustment without sacrificing valuable shock travel.

Chassisworks’ weld on bracket option is only available for assemblies using the ProPower arms, and other optional accessories include a tubular rear anti roll bar, aluminum rearend girdle and a control arm support brace.
