CoRuPt Motorsports invading 275 Drag Radial

This may be the only time you get a glimpse of the front end as you may just be looking at the tail lights of this 04' Cobra. Photos: DMC Racing

One may ask who is Konstantine Zografos? Well put this one in your handy dandy notebook boys and girls because it is a name that you may want to get familiar with. Zografos is one of the proprietors behind the madness that has become CoRuPt Motorsports. For the last two years Konstantine has traveled the country with Alex Vrettos on his quest to become the fastest man on a drag radial. Much success has been had while doing so and I guess maybe the speed bug has bitten Zografos, because he has incorporated some of the very best in the business to make his dream into reality.

You can see more awesome builds happening on the DMC Racing website

Starting with an original 2004 Cobra, the car was sent to a very familiar location within the confines of DMC Racing. Dennis Macpherson has handled some of the top drag radial cars in the world within his facility and Konstantine’s Cobra would be no different. With the basis of stock suspension, some aftermarket pieces were purchased and then extensively modified by DMC. All the proper measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the driver because it will have plenty of that famous J&E power under the hood.

The 352 cubic inch piece sits nicely in the engine bay with the compliment of the 88mm turbo.

Joe and Ed and J&E Performance put together the combination of a 352 cubic inch small block. An 88mm turbo was placed out front to fit within guidelines of the class. Helping to put it all together is the mastermind himself, Job Spetter. Job had a large part in picking all the right pieces that will work just right together for this effort. From the turbo to the camshaft, he has an opinion of what makes these cars run the best which sets him apart from the rest.

Applying power to the ground will be handled by several people. Konstantine has received parts from Marty at Neal Chance Converters and Joe at Pro Torque. Mickey Thompson drag radials will sit out back handling all the traction duties on the quest to become one of the top contenders in 275 drag radial. The exterior look is undecided at this point but before the season starts it will receive a vinyl wrap courtesy of Unique Laser Concepts in New Jersey. All the right pieces have been chosen for this puzzle and with some testing CoRuPt Motorsports will be coming to a track near you once again.
