The new two-car partnership between Elite Motorsports and JEGS will see six-time world champion Jeg Coughlin Jr. make his official homecoming to the family brand, teaming up with his nephew and current JEGS driver, Troy Coughlin Jr.

The move marks a celebrated return for the drag racing legend. After retiring from the JEGS car in 2020, Jeg Jr. returned to full-time racing in 2024 under a different sponsor. For 2026, he will be back behind the wheel of the famous yellow and black machine. “The 2026 season will kick off with a lot of familiarity for me, and I couldn’t be more proud to drive the brilliant, bold, and famous yellow and black JEGS machine,” Jeg Jr. said.

Troy Coughlin Jr., who has carried the JEGS banner for Elite Motorsports since 2021, will continue to represent the brand with a new “unique midnight matte black and yellow” car design. “There is a huge sense of pride in wearing the yellow and black of JEGS. It’s one of the greatest honors of my career,” said Troy Jr. The pairing of the veteran champion and the rising star creates a powerful new combination for the Elite Motorsports and JEGS team.
