Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod Heads To Texas Motorplex For 2027

Drag Illustrated announced that the World Series of Pro Mod will relocate to Texas Motorplex beginning in 2027, bringing one of the sport’s premier Pro Modified events to one of drag racing’s most iconic facilities. The inaugural Texas edition of the event is scheduled for March 5-7, 2027, marking a significant new chapter for the high-profile doorslammer showcase.

The announcement was made during The Wes Buck Show, where Drag Illustrated founder and World Series of Pro Mod creator Wes Buck revealed the move and outlined an ambitious vision for the event’s future.

A Bigger Stage For Pro Mod Racing

Since its inception, the World Series of Pro Mod has evolved into one of the most prestigious standalone events in drag racing. Known for attracting elite competitors from across the country, the race has built its reputation on fierce competition, unpredictable matchups, and an atmosphere designed to elevate Pro Mod racing beyond a traditional weekend event.

Buck believes Texas Motorplex offers the perfect venue to continue that growth.

Texas Motorplex Adds Another Marquee Event

Texas Motorplex has long been recognized as one of NHRA’s flagship facilities, hosting legendary events and serving as one of the cornerstone tracks in professional drag racing. Now, the venue will add another headline attraction to its already busy spring calendar.

There are no favorable first-round draws or carefully constructed brackets. Every pass carries the intensity of a final-round showdown.

Moving to Texas Motorplex gives organizers additional room to expand that experience while utilizing one of the country’s premier drag racing facilities.
