In addition to leading the points standings in the NHRA’s Pro Stock class, Erica Enders-Stevens set both ends of the Pro Stock record books this past weekend at the 45th Annual Toyota NHRA Summernationals held at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey.
Achieved during Sunday’s first round of eliminations, Enders-Stevens knocked down a stunning 6.464 and a best speed of 215.55 MPH in her Elite Motorsports-sponsored Chevrolet Camaro to put the record well into the 6.40’s as Pro Stock continues to chip away at the record books.
Enders-Stevens’ machine uses a set of CFE CNC-ported cylinder heads and a billet intake manifold from none other than CFE Racing in Michigan.
She finished the qualifying sessions with a 6.473 at the high MPH of 215.55 — just one tick behind fellow CFE customer Allen Johnson’s 6.472 and putting her in the second spot entering eliminations. There, she took out Val Smeland in the first round, lighting the boards with the 6.464 elapsed time and enabling her to claim both ends of the record, set on the fabled E-Town surface. Her second round matchup was against her former crew chief Dave Connolly, who proceeded to strap the holeshot on her and got to the far end of the track first by one-thousandth of a second, sending Enders-Stevens home for the weekend with the knowledge that she’s got the baddest hot-rod on Pro Stock lane.
CFE’s products can be found on a number of the top-running vehicles in Pro Stock, including eventual event winner Jeg Couglin. For more information on the complete line of CFE Racing’s product line, check out their website.
