Event Preview: PDRA Drag Wars At GALOT Motorsports Park

The end of the 2017 PDRA season is fast approaching and the racers are ready to do battle at GALOT Motorsports Park when Drag Wars kicks off September 7-9. The quickest and fastest eighth-mile Pro Mods in the world will be headlining this amazing event, where records could be set and series titles clinched. Every heart-pounding moment will be broadcast live RIGHT HERE on SpeedVideo.com when the racing begins at GALOT Motorsports Park.

The PDRA East Coast Nationals produced some amazing action back in April, and Drag Wars should exceed that with ease. Every racer on the PDRA tour has the Drag Wars dates circled since this event helps set the stage for the series finale. With a top-shelf track surface at their disposal, you can be assured that every racer on the property at GALOT Motorsports Park will have the biggest tune-up possible in their car to make the field in their class.

Pro Extreme is the PDRA’s premier class and has a tight points battle at the top coming into Drag Wars. Currently, Mike Recchia holds a 203 point lead over second-place Mattias Wulcan. Both of these racers have been ultra-consistent during the season, and haven’t allowed the other to run away with the title. Fans can expect these veteran racers to push each other all the way until the final round at Drag Wars.

Drag Wars could be the turning point for the Pro Boost championship with three racers all with a chance to make a run at the title. Jose Gonzales currently leads the standings with a 165 point advantage over second place Ty Tutterow, and 301 points ahead of John Strickland. The Pro Boost title is far from locked up for Gonzales since both Tutterow and Strickland have shown they can win events this year.

The Pro Nitrous points chase has been a total knock-down, drag-out battle between 2016 champion Tommy Franklin and runner-up Jay Cox. Going into the Drag Wars event Cox has a slim 94 point lead over Franklin with Randy Weatherford lurking in third and trying to make up ground. The GALOT race will be critical for Cox and Franklin’s title hopes so don’t expect either racer to back down on race day.

Drag Wars will be a packed event with great pro racing action, including the stars of the Extreme Pro Stock, and Pro Extreme Motorcycle classes working towards their points titles. The sportsman racers will also be putting on a show with competitors in Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Pro Jr Dragster, Top Jr Dragster, Outlaw 632, and Bracket Bash all taking to the track!
