The PDRA heads into the homestretch of the 2017 season with a visit to Tulsa Raceway Park for the PDRA Summer Nationals August 10-12. This event is the furthest the PDRA travels West for the year and will bring many of the top Pro Mods to the Sooner state for some great racing. The PDRA’s visit to Tulsa signals the final run-in to the championship, and in every category, competitors are trying to set themselves up for the last push of a title run and get every last point they can. The Tulsa Raceway Park surface is always on point, and that will allow the racers to push their cars to the limits as they battle it out for a PDRA championship.

The Summer Nationals will have big entertainment for the fans with Danny O’Day bringing out the world’s quickest and fastest wheelstander to put on a show each night. The pits will also be packed with tons of Gassers making runs all weekend, and that will be nothing but wheels-up, gear banging excitement from start to finish. The PDRA is going to have even more special grudge races set up for this event that will keep fans on the edge of their seat.

In the Pro Extreme standings, Mike Reechia has a narrow lead over Mattias Wulcan, but also has to worry about Tommy D’ Aprile, who’s currently within striking distance in third place. The Pro Nitrous class continues to have the tightest battle for the PDRA championship with Jay Cox holding a slim 96 point lead over last year’s champion, Tommy Franklin.

In Pro Boost Jose Gonzales is trying to fight off a hard charging Ty Tutterow who’s coming off a huge win at the Mid-America Indy Showdown, and in Extreme Pro Stock, Cary Goforth will be trying to put more distance between himself and Trevor Eman to seal up the class championship. Travis Davis is doing his best to hold off Eric McKinney in Pro Extreme Motorcycle to win himself a PDRA title and will use the Summer Nationals to try and pad his points lead.

The PDRA Sportsman racers will be on the property at Tulsa Raceway Park with Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Pro Jr. Dragster and Top Jr. Dragster. All of the racers in these classes will be putting in their best efforts to make headway towards their own PDRA championships.
