Event Preview: Project X Winter Meltdown 7 No-Prep Shootout

The baddest no-prep racers invade Odessa, Texas, on December 2-3, 2022 to throw down at Project X Promotions’ Winter Meltdown 7 No-Prep Shootout. Famous for being No-prep racing’s year-end party and holiday season kick-off, the event will run for the first time at Penwell Knights Raceway and is guaranteed to be one of Texas’s biggest no-prep events!

Two days of back-to-back, action-packed, 1/8-mile drag racing showcases some of the hottest names on the circuit. In the Big Tire class, defending event champion and “Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings” star Kayla Morton will be coming in hot looking to maintain the momentum she’s had all season long. Meanwhile, Brent Self will be on the hunt for his fourth-straight Winter Meltdown win in the Small Tire category as he goes up against an extremely competitive field.

Other classes, including Weekend Warrior, King of the Tailgate, Daily Driver Shootout, True Street, Full Size Truck, Index racing, Junior Varsity, and Jr. Dragster are also on the bill for the weekend.

The clocks will be off and racers will be running on a .400 Pro tree with a true win light to make the competition as close as it gets for everything from purpose-built machines to daily drivers.

With $10,000-to-win on the line for both Big Tire and Small Tire champions, high-horsepower cars, celebrity drivers, and more, PXP’s Winter Meltdown 7 brings the no prep heat to Texas.
