Event Preview: Ultimate Callout Challenge 2018

Lucas Oil Raceway is the site for the biggest and best in the diesel industry to square off at the Ultimate Callout Challenge 2018 (UCC). This triathlon of horsepower is so big it spans several different areas of the facility at Lucas Oil Raceway and has something for those who love big power. You will be able to see all the UCC action from every portion of the event live on SpeedVideo.com right here!

The UCC is a unique event in the motorsports world that requires its competitors to participate in three very different disciplines over the course of a weekend. All of the participants must take part in the drag race, dyno competition and sled pull portions of the UCC in order to have a chance at being crowned overall champion. The UCC is punishing on equipment and it’s an accomplishment just to have your truck make it through all three events.

For 2018, to provide spectators with non-stop action, the UCC has made a change to how it operates. Instead of waiting for each driver to get prepared for the track, dyno, or sled, the UCC will have different events going on at the same time with drivers trying to qualify for the 2019 event. The 50 best teams will be making their hits at the drag strip, chassis dyno, and sled pulls while the main event has teams competing in one of the other activities. This will provide tons of diesel-filled performance for the fans to soak up.

Firepunk diesel from Plain City, Ohio has owned the UCC of late and they have a huge target on their back this year. Teams like Derek Rose from DNR Customs, Donovan Harris from Armor Inc./DDP, Jared Delekta at Industrial Injection and others are ready to extinguish the Firepunk reign of dominance. Shawn Baca, with backing from Industrial Injection, has been very vocal about how he plans to take down Lavon Miller and the Firepunk team in all facets of the UCC this year.

In the pits, fans can check out all the iron competing in the UCC and a whole lot more. There will be a large vendor row set up with over 133 companies providing displays of products. Spectators can get in on the action with the Show-n-Shine competition that will be going on all weekend for anything diesel-powered. There will also be a group of technicians trying to pull off a SEMA Show truck build from scratch in just three days!

If you want to see some amazing 4,500-pound trucks run single-digits in the quarter-mile, pull sleds, and throw down 2,500 horsepower dyno pulls, you won’t want to miss the 2018 edition of the Ultimate Call Out Challenge. All of the action will be broadcast live RIGHT HERE from Lucas Oil Raceway on SpeedVideo.com May 4-6.
