There’s a new craze sweeping it’s way across the globe that’s senseless to the point of downright hilarity, and it seems everyone is on the bandwagon; including people the likes of John Force.
For those not hip to the culture, “planking” is an activity popular in various parts of the world that began in England in 1997 but only recently caught on in Britain and elsewhere in the world. It involves laying face down with arms at your side in the most unusual or original location one can find, taking a photograph of it, and posting it on the internet for all to see. The more public the location and the more people involved, the better.
We’ve seen people atop light poles, on buildings, signs, phone booths, on the pavement in the middle of intersections, inside the engine of a jetliner, atop wind mills, and virtually anywhere else you can imagine. Not to be outdone, fifteen-time Funny Car champion John Force, ever the showman and class clown, joined in the fun at the recent Summit Racing Equipment Nationals in Norwalk by “planking” on the top of Ford Mustang Funny Car and across the seat of this scooter in the staging lanes. Check out these photos of Force showing his spectaclar planking form, and if you have a comical race-inspired planking of your own, feel free to share it with us.
